Saturday of week 37: The Belly Fat Cure

Hello Team BFC Club,

Yesterday hubby and I were running a bunch of errands. It seemed to take 1/2 the day. We ate lunch at Hometown Buffet. I had a piece of chicken and some veggies and a salad. We went into like a million stores, well it seemed like it anyways. I must have walked 2-3 miles. We were looking for something to use as a doghouse for our 2 dogs for when they are outside.. The love each other and need to be together.  We had an awesome one that hubby and a friend built at the old house, but it is soooooo big and heavy, we decided to just leave it there.

So while we were out and running around, I found myself getting kind of depressed. I kept seeing all this great snacks and food that I can never eat again. We were at the register, and they always have candy. There they were - peanut M and M's. Calling my name. I got sad, and said to myself - I can never eat you again! There was lots of stuff I kept seeing thru out the day. Every where I went. We were at one store and I thought to myself, (not out loud) Wow we would have gone over to Dairy Queen for a blizzard right about now. ..In the old days.....I don't know why - but it kind of got to me yesterday.

Of course you know I would never cheat! I was good.

Everyone share your stories of how you handle those pressures. It will help the Newbies.

My thought for the day:
Live all you can; it’s a mistake not to. It doesn’t so much matter what you do in particfular, so long as you have your life. If you haven’t had that, what have you had?

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. I know how you feel when you seem you are surrounded by all those tempting sweets. I went to costco the other day and that was very tempting. I remember going there on weekends and you could have a whole meal just by tasting all the samples. And now they have all their halloween candy. I just kept telling myself I have come a long way and dont want to ruin it by eating something that gives me pleasure for a short time and then feel guilty over it. I also try not to go to the store when I am hungry. And to be honest I really dont crave sweets to often, which I find unbelievable.

  2. It's that time of year when all the sweet treats are piled sky high in the stores to get us to buy, eat, and be sad! Usually Halloween is the beginning of my downward spiral when just enough sugar kicks me into high gear cravings to New Years! I feel it in my bones (belly) that this year is going to be different. Like Diana said, we don't crave sweets that often, and Rosalie it's probably a good thing to remember our old selves, because we get a second chance to live a long, and healthier life! P.S. I get sad too when I can't eat something like my fav. Turtlette Blizzard, but the new and improved version of myself is more happy she isn't lugging around 16lb. as of today! We will celebrate the Holiday's thin (in my case = thinner...

Maltitol isnt good for everyone ,but there are other alco. sugars you can use ,remenber alco sugar counts as carbs

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
