I wanted to talk about the hump today. My very good friend Robin, and many others are kind of stuck on a hump and can't seem to go down any more weight, I talked to her on the phone yesterday for a while. I would like to share some tips with you that I gave to her.
This is an important time, because this is when some people would just give up and say that it is not working. But I am here to tell you, that is absolutely wrong. You must not give up. That is the most important reason why I have gotten down as much weight as I have so far.
If you look over my weight loss progress, you will see that there is many weeks that I did not go down at all or even went up a little. For instance, this week on Monday, I started at 172 and I am 173.5 today. Am I gonna cry about it? Not a chance. I know now, that this will happen on a regular basis because of what you eat or how much water you drink, etc. Going up and down a little is normal. So don't freak out! But I feel it is real important to weigh in every morning just for this reason. So we can be accountable and make sure we are not eating the wrong things.
So back to the tips:
Don't cut out all you grain carbs all together. Try eating 1 w/breakfast and 1 w/lunch.
Choose better carbs. I used to eat brown rice and wheat pasta a lot before but I choose not to that much any more. I eat smart and delicious wheat tortillas all the time. Low in calories, high in fiber. I also like Sara Lee wheat pitas a lot too. Easy and can be used for many things pizza, sandwiches, toast.
Remember that we get carbs from other things in the day too like, sauces and veggies.
Drink lots of water.
Stop eating carbs w/dinner. Eat some kind of meat or fish w/a spinach salad or veggies or 1 of each or 2 veggies if you want.
Try real hard to be done with your dinner and everything by 7pm or 7:30 pm at the latest. Only water after.
If you are real hungry just have a piece of cheese or get some Redi Whip. Just squirt some in your mouth then drink some water.
I know its hard sometimes - but just know that we are all in this together and you are not alone.

My thought for the day:
Prosperity is not just having things. It is the consciousness that attracts the things. Prosperity is a way of living and thinking, and not just having money or things. Poverty is a way of living and thinking, and not just a lack of money or things.
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

ReplyDeleteI am actually up a couple of pounds. the ones that I seem to deal with every month but seems to take a month to get rid of to start over. today is my anniversary and I plan to stay on the plan but have some great food too. we just got a treadmill a couple of days ago and I am excited that maybe a little more cardio will jumpstart things even though Jorge says we don't have to exercise. I do, for my well being as well as my fat.
