Sunday of week 30: The Belly Fat Cure

Wow, yesterday towards the middle of the day around 2 or 3 I just started feeling terrible. Ok - ladies you might know the feeling. As you know I am 51 and still get my monthly. It might be coming up in a few days, and I could just feel my hormones take a a real deep nose dive. At first I started getting angry at really nothing. Then by the evening I was so emotional and depressed it was weird. The weird part was that I knew it was just my hormones going down. By the time hubby got home from work, he said what's the matter? I said - I don't know I think its my hormones. He asked if there was anything he could get me and I said I have no idea.

I fell better today a little. Yesterday on facebook, on Sandy's Simple Recipies she posted a Ricotta pancake recipe. I made it for breakfast with some turkey bacon strips for me and hubby. We put some natures hollow sugar free preserves on top. I have to say it was very good and only about 10 carbs and 1 1/2 sugars each.

You just mix 3/4 cup of ricotta cheese and 4 eggs and mix real good and fry in some olive oil the whole thing, then flip. (I had to use two spatulas). Very different and very good. Thanks Sandy!!

Now for the really surprising news..............da duh da dum da duh da dum...
I am 180 lbs this morning. My jaw fell open and as usual I almost cried. I can't believe that I keep losing weight after doing it for over 6 1/2 months. And yesterday I had popcorn at the movies. But I only ate some chicken and vegetables for lunch to leave room for the extra carbs.

I still like crying right now. Must be the hormones again. LOL

Thanks for listening. Love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day; Please believe in yourself that you can do this. And don;t cheat and don;t give up!!

Keep on BFc ' n  :-)

  1. Wow congratulations on the weight loss. I am sure that makes your day after feeling so blue huh? My week 2 weigh in is tomorrow and I am a little scared. I weighed a couple of days ago to check in on my progress and I am still the same weight. I know it will come and with all the support from my BFC friends I know it will happen. Hope you are feeling better.

  2. Oh Rosalie! You sound like me! I too have had to deal with the hormonal thing for about 4 yrs now. I finally have gone a year without a period but I do still have the rollercoaster hormones. I am hoping as my body rids itself of the sugars, that my hormones will line up as well. Sugar wrecks havoc on hormones in the first place then you add menopausal years to that...well it can be H.E.Double Hockey Sticks for everyone concerned! You're doing the right things...maybe next time you start feeling that swing beginning...go soak in a tub of lavender or find a beautiful quiet place and sip on your fav beverage...focus on pampering yourself and not trying to fight it off or pretending you feel great (my issue!). I'm so proud of your weight loss AGAIN!!! Keep it up! I Need YOU!!!

  3. This SAME thing happened to me on Saturday afternoon, believe it or not. It is what sent me off the deep end, I caved and gave into my chocolate craving. Those hormones! I took Sunday "off" and it was the biggest mistake ever. You handled it SO well and that is such an inspiration to me. It is a reminder to me that I cannot just use my monthly period as an excuse for eating bad and going off the deep end! BRAVO for staying on track and losing even more!!

  4. It really is encouraging to see that you're still losing weight. Low-calorie diets always scare me, because I hear how people can lose weight at 1500 calories a day but then need to cut down to 1300 and then 1200 to keep losing. That just sounds horrible to me.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
