Still Raining...

Hello Friends,

How is everybody doing on their weight loss?? Please comment below with your status so we can all help each other.

It is Saturday evening and we just got home from seeing the movie "Pompeii". Hubby is working nights at the FD and just left. I really liked the movie but we all knew how it would end right?

Have I told you that I have had dreams and visions of living in those times, in a place like that seeing myself in a stone building looking out the 2nd story window, all open - no glass, looking at the dirt road below of people walking by, and wearing a long dress... Yup many times I have had dreams of that.

I seem to be having a hard time at work. It has been 3 months now and I still feel like CRAP... to put it mildly. I don't want to complain, since I tried to get a job for a couple years and couldn't because of my age - I guess...

I get so frustrated because there is only 3 of us in our part of the office, me, another girl and our boss.. (but he's not the owner). The 2 of them are always speaking spanish - which they know I don't understand or speak, I mean ALL THE TIME... And sometimes the are whispering stuff. I feel so left out and kind of like they don't like me. I have asked them many times to speak English --but they just don't care is the only thing I can feel - or like they just don't like me.

Yesterday she said something to me about a file and I got PISSED... A little while later she asks me if I am upset about something?? I said YES I am upset, but I will just keep it to myself. I can't keep asking them to speak English - and I am so upset most of the time - feeling so left out - I get in tears at times when I go to the bathroom. I feel like I am losing it... AND he won't give me 8 hours a day and she does. I can't sleep sometimes about it.

Don't get me wrong - I AM grateful  to have a job at all and all the other girls in the office are SUPER nice to  me. - OK thanks for letting me get that out. Love you  all for listening.

I know many people that started the BFC with me or even way before me over 4 years ago - have gained weight back... Many people just can't seem to stick with it or let their emotions get the best of them and eat their way out of it.

PLEASE know that no matter where you are in your weight loss, if you are new or even if you are starting over, You CAN DO IT!! YOU CAN Stick with it TOO!!

Get your mind right - I have said it MANY times that it is all in your head - and it is. Don't let the food bullies get to you. Be STRONG!!

  1. You are so sweet and always so encouraging. I am holding my own. I lost 4 lbs in the last two weeks, but this week has been a little hard on me. I am not back where I started, but up about three lbs from my lowest. Still have a bunch to lose, but I'm still in it for the long haul. Sorry about the work situation. I wouldn't want to feel like that everyday. I hope it gets better for you. Take care my friend! XO!

  2. Since I started again eating the BFC way(and discovered your blog), I have lost 14.7 lbs. and 2 1/2" off my waist. I also QUIT smoking 5 weeks ago and have to say I feel so much better!!!!!! I didn't smoke much at all, but even one cig is enough & those boogers are gone! Rosie, you have really been so helpful with your blog and your messages on FB & recipes. Your success gives me incentive! I feel so badly for you and your job situation. That type of office situation is not pleasant or good for you. You need the job though and that makes it even harder to endure. So sorry it has you so upset, but sure is understandable. Don't guess there is anyway you could be transferred to another office with the nice girls or you would have already done so. As the kids would say "That just Sucks!." Why do people have to be that way? I know you must live for the weekends and getting out of that environment. I have been there...done that & it's an awful way to have to work for a living. Come and vent anytime and get it out... will listen and try to help. Will sure make you feel better for sure! Thanks again for the encouragement you have provided for me, so I would be happy to return the favor any way I can. Hang in There.

  3. Hmm... Maybe learn something new. How about borrowing a beginners Spanish cd set from the library. Then learn a few corkers to throw them off in the office. Perhaps, "I know what you're saying", or "You guys are really making me feel unwanted by speaking Spanish all the time". Ha ha. Sorry that you are not comfortable there. Would asking the owner to ask them to speak English while working with you help at all?

  4. I like Becky's suggestion! Seriously, learn something to freak those meanies out! Ha Ha! As for the weight loss, I had lost a bit too much weight and my husband was starting to freak out over it so I added more grains back and have gained some back. I'm happy where I'm at now, but I've been soooo hungry this week....I think it's the rain and that I'm sitting around and not leaving the house because it's so yucky outside. I'm hoping that tomorrow the rain stops and I can go walking! Don't let those bullies at work get you down! PS---why would you want to work 8 hrs in that environment? Just sayin :) I left my crazy stressful job because I just couldn't take it anymore.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
