Be Thankful...

Hi Ya Friends,

Well the weather got a little cooler over here, well at least for us anyway. I have been walking with my furry kids every evening after work, trying to go at least 2 miles. I did miss tonight though - Oh well.

Yesterday I was having a not-so great day. I know I said I wasn't gonna let work get to me, but the Spanish thing between 3 of them ALL DAY kind of got to me. I guess I felt bad and left out. When I got home it wasn't any better.

So off I went with the kids for a long walk. As I went I tried to think of things that I was thankful for to take my mind off of the negative stuff... I started saying things out loud.

I AM THANKFUL...

I am thankful that I have my dogs to love and walk with me each day.
I am thankful for my beautiful house.
I am thankful that I am healthy now.
I am thankful for my children (even though they are grown now) Still kids to me.
I am thankful I have a job and get a paycheck now.
I am thankful that my hubby has a good job to be able to pay our bills.
I am thankful for all my bloggin Buddies.

Well you get the idea. I tried to focus on the positive things in life instead of focusing on all the bad.

Try to remember, no matter how bad things seem...

What are you thankful for???

  1. This blog came at such an appropriate time. I've been having some health issues that make every day a challenge. It's when things go awry that we usually focus on our many blessings. I'm a Christian so first and very foremost I am SO thankful for my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I couldn't make it through a single solitary day without Him. ():-) I have a husband who loves and supports me 500%. I have a beautiful daughter and handsome son who mean everything to me. I have a new son-in-law that challenges our family but also adds some extra spice to it. I'm thankful for him too! Even though I have some health issues, I try and never let them define me. I will keep fighting till there's no fight left in me. I'm thankful for my four legged kids (my dogs) too. They are THE best!!

Thank you Rosalie for blogging this today. I am SO thankful for you as well. You remind us that no matter what happens, we need to be thankful because we all have many blessings in our lives.

Hugs and Blessings Coming Your Way, dear Friend!

  2. Rosalie, I am thankful for your inspiration. We do not know each other, but your story is truly inspiring and so is your blog, thank you!

I ran across one of your YouTube videos, and I felt compelled to reach out. My story is long and complicated, but whose isn't. :) I have struggled with my weight my whole adult life and I have managed to make things worse by being an emotional/stress eaters who gravitates towards carbs.

I was married last May and for my wedding I worked very hard interval training and maintaining a nearly no-carb diet and I was able to lose nearly 50 lbs. though it took me nearly a year to accomplish. I gained it all back and more, now I am overwhelmed, because I have tried nearly everything throughout my life and very few things have worked (as cliche as that may sound).

I am reaching out, now, because I weigh around 350 lbs. now and I want to lose 200 lbs. I want to be healthy, and I want to succeed. It is hard facing the fact that I have to lose so much weight. When I saw your video, you stated that support is something that is vital...I will need so much support, because I know that I have to succeed and I can't do this alone, but I'm just not ready to give up on myself either.

I am THANKFUL for each day that God has given me, so that I can get up and keep trying to reach my very best. Thank you for taking the time to read my posting.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
