That's What's Up...

Hi Friends,

How has everybody been doing?? I am the same I think. Work is OK - some days I wonder when my boss will ever say that I did a good job - just once. Then other days I say, WOW - no one said I did anything wrong today! Baby steps I guess.

My eating and weight are great like usual. Valentines day was my Hubby's and my 20th anniversary of being married. We went out to dinner at this expensive place called Magic Lamp near us in Upland. It was very good.

Saturday Hubby's cousin's son got married (2nd cousin?) We had a great time at the wedding. The groom is black and the bride is Mexican. What a great mix of both cultures at this party. At the wedding they did this lasso thing and then jumped the broom at the end. At the reception, they had a Mariachi band and DJ. SO FUN! I bought this dress and paid $80 for it and only wore it twice so I thought it deserved one more showing.
OH BOY - Sleep is not my friend at ALL! Between the hot flashes and Middle-Heimers, I'm pretty sure my mind is on Vacation. All the women I have spoke to in Menopause say that this is all normal. But my problem is, I have had these symptoms for at least 5 years now I think and am 55 and still get my monthly.Like I said, my mind goes Bye-Bye at times - LOL
Our new Little Dude Conan is doing good. He is so F-N cute but has poo-pooed on the floor 3 times since we got him - but no pee. He does that outside since we taught him the doggie door. He always is smiling and Peaches doesn't cry anymore - they get along fine.

No work tomorrow (Monday) but hubby is so I will try to do some stuff around here I guess.

And Yes, I saw Jorge's new video - Big Deal....is all I have to say....

  1. So glad to hear from you. Just wrote a long response, but it disappeared when I tried to sign onto google!!! Ughhhh!! So glad the pup I doing well and it sounds like you are too. I haven't been in the mood to blog lately. I don't have much to say which is unusual!! XO!

    I think a supervisor can really set the tone for the work environment. It's too bad yours doesn't seem to praise the positives.

  4. Well, that's a first, it didn't of course! I just want to say that I really do miss your blogs, I am so proud of you for always eating right. You look gorgeous in that dress and you should wear it over and over. I am glad that your puppy is working out for you and Peaches! Have a good day today!!!
    Bosses aren't paid to make people feel good, sadly, the culture of today. You know what an accomplishment it is for you to learn all of the new things and work after so many years. I'm not sure my brain has enough memory left :)

  5. I love your purple dress! So glad the new doggie is working out, except for a few poo poo mistakes :) He'll learn. As for the boss thing, I had enough of mine! She was a condescending bitch so I said, "Good Bye!" I'm still not sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I'm working on it. Enjoy your day off!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
