Hello Friends,
How is everyone doing on their weight loss? Any problems or concerns you would like to talk about? I am going to speak for everyone int his group and say that we all want YOU to succeed, so tell us how we can help.
I seriously don't mean to brag or anything, but the weather is CRAZY here lately. Perfect in fact. Beautiful blue skies and perfect for taking my walks with my furry girls.
My Poor Mandy though. She seems to be having Doggie-Ritis (arthritis) or something. She limps a little when she walks and can't do well anymore after about 1/2 mile. Funny cause peaches is WAY older than her. I don't want to have to go back to the vet after all the bills I was getting from peaches problems before.
Anyone know what is good to give Mandy for the arthritis so she will feel better??
Here's what I've been eating:
Coconut flour pancakes yesterday morning.
For lunch I made a almond crust pizza and ate it with a grape zevia.
I found a recipe and altered it to fit the BFC and made these Pumpkin Poppers. Of course I had to taste test one after and I give them 2 thumbs UP!!
OK so Hubby really hardly ever likes the sweets I make - and I wind up eating all by myself what ever I make. He tasted one and said they were SO GOOD and ate a few more.
My dinner last night was 6 wings and a spinach salad. and 2 more poppers for desert with that tea I bought to help me sleep.
OK so the tea - The first night I drank a cup, I couldn't sleep at all. I drank it too close to bedtime I think and it made my mouth REAL DRY also. Wasn't crazy about it.
The next night it worked a little better - I drank it earlier.
Last night was the first time Hubby was home at night in quite a few days. First - He SNORES - like a f-n freight train running over your face. Second, The little rat is very bad when he is there. When he's not home at night she is a perfect angel and sleeps in Mandys bed all night, Mandy sleeps in Peaches bed, and Peaches sleeps where ever she wants (she is the queen after all) - usually on the tile in the bathroom.
She kept jumping - no SNEAKING on the bed. She is like a Rat after all and you can hardly feel her. Funny, I saw a shadow of what I thought was a REAL rat on the bed, turned on the light, and guess who? I threw her off 2 times then in the crate it was for her. I guess I have to do that when he is home.
So just tossing a lot last night for me and - WOW I was HOT! It felt like a HOT arm was around me and he was not even near me. The door was open a little so I could get some fresh cool air, then I sleep under the covers cause I'm cold and keep waking up in a SWEAT! Yish - hormones.
I am not gonna give up on the tea yet.
I can't believe it but Peaches bumps are almost all gone now. She has a few left but compared to before when her back was covered with them. Who knew - grain free food and treats for her now.
Breakfast this morning was Pancakes and turkey bacon.
I used 2 oz cream cheese melted a little in the microwave, 1 heaping tbsp of pumpkin, 2 eggs, 1 scoop of strawberry whey protein powder and 1 tbsp of chia seeds.
Lunch today; I know it looks weird, but its what I wanted. 2 Alpine valley 12 grain toast, 1 with my homemade almond butter and blueberries, and the other with cottage cheese and Natures Hollow preserves.
Yup after I ate 2 more poppers. Addicting for sure.
I hope you are all having a nice day. This is PurpleRosy signing off...
Keep BFC ' n :-)

Some tips if you are having trouble
- First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
- Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
- Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
- Make sure you drink lots of water.
- Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
- Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
- Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
- Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
I hope this helps.

Maybe you should try Mandy on the same food as Peaches.
ReplyDeleteFor these cream cheese pancakes...do you use anything else besides the protein powder??
Of course they all 3 are eating the same thing. I can't separate them, they bowl jump. LOL
DeleteYou could add some stevia, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, to make it more flavorful. Also maybe vanilla protein powder would be fine too.
Hi Rosalie, :)
ReplyDeleteThis product from Foster and Smith is great for older dogs with joint issues. Maybe it would be worth a try?

Blessings and Hugs,

Thanks Linda but that stuff is very expensive for 2 dogs - yish
DeleteMy parents give their pug 25mg of something... (tramadol, maybe?) The label's not on the bottle and they don't remember what it is. Came from the vet. I don't think it's expensive since my parents are retired and their income's pretty limited. It has made a difference. While Emma's (the pug) still stiff legged, she does move more now.
