Thank you everyone for the kind words yesterday. The evening that my son Matthew prepared to honor his brother was very nice.
We were at a very nice beach in Laguna Niguel with a beautiful view
This is the spot where we were sitting. They brought food which I could not eat (pasta) but they had salad at least.
When it got dark we all went down to the beach and lit the luminaries. There was 27 because that was how old he was.
We got home kind of late, around 10 - boy I'm getting old -- very tired.
My breakfast this morning was Oatmeal-pumpkin-protein-pancakes. topped with a bit of my coconut butter and a bit of Natures Hollow preserves.
for the pancakes: I take 1 tbsp of chia seeds and 1/4c of rolled oats in a bowl and cover with a little USVAmilk, and let sit for a few minutes.
add 1 heaping tbsp of pumpkin puree, some pumpkin pie spice, 2 eggs and 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder.
This will make 2 pancakes and the batter will be thin so cook in a small fry pan with some coconut oil spray in the pan on a med-low fire. flip when done - then do the second one.
I tried to make myself useful and stay busy today since I keep getting told that I don't work and he is the only one making any money. YUP - I get that a lot.
I went out in the front and back yard and sprayed for weeds again. Then blew off (with the blower) and cleaned and hosed down the back patio.
Then came in and cleaned the Master bathroom.
Rested for a few minutes then ate lunch - the last bowl of the chorizzo-kale soup, but I added in a pack of Shirataki noodles.
Then I went back out, remember that we have a horse trail right behind our house? Well I was told by a neighbor that it is our responsibility to keep our side of it clean. So I went out with a pair of working gloves and started pulling the weeds which some were almost up to my shoulders. I got about 3/4 of it done then went all the way back around and got the trash can - back to the trail again wheeling it with me and picked up all the weeds - then back around again.
I am exhausted - to say the least. At least today the weather was not too bad, about 85.
So now I'm watching an episode of Hemlock Grove on Netflix. I love me some shows about weird stuff.
Yesterday I went to Petsmart to find a new dog food for my poor Peaches. She still gets some kind of allergic bumps from something so - GUESS WHAT?? The guy suggested a grain free kind. So I will try anything to get her more comfortable and less itchy. Mandy and the Rat will eat anything so - we shall see.
OK - TMI coming... I just had my monthly a week and 1/2 ago and yesterday morning I woke up with a tummy ache. I said " NO WAY!" But yes way... I got it again after only 1 & 1/2 weeks. I feel terrible. WTH! 54 - I thought it is supposed to be going away!!
I used to say a lot more personal things on here - but can't do that anymore. I can't say how I really feel or what I'm really going thru. I am just a REAL person and sometimes - Yeah - life sucks - and no matter what I go through, I still continue to eat healthy no matter what, and that is what I am trying to show you.
Well that's it - Even though I'm SUPER Tired, I'm gonna take the furry girls for a long walk in about an hour. They missed it yesterday.
Have a good one - this is PurpleRosy signing off...
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

Some tips if you are having trouble
- First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
- Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
- Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
- Make sure you drink lots of water.
- Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
- Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
- Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
- Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
I hope this helps.

Funny, I got my monthly and then got it again 17 days later. What the heck? Before that I wet over 2 month's. I thought I was done. No such luck. Don't get down on yourself for not working. Taking care of a house, cooking, pets, errands, chores is a lot of work. I always admire that you do eat healthy. I'm sorry life sucks for you now. Hopefully each day will get better. XO!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that things aren't going to great right now, I wish there was something that would help make it better. You do well at making it through each day without over eating due to emotions! That is a HUGE talent!
ReplyDeleteBless you my friend!
What a lovely memorial for your son. I hope you get some good rest and feel better soon. I'm actually really inspired by how industrious you are in spite of your foot and all that's been going on! I probably would not be out weeding, making good food for myself, or walking dogs if I had as many obstacles as you do right now - so good for you! :-)
ReplyDeleteI switched my cat to a grain-free diet and his itching and dander are so much better. I don't think I'm quite as allergic to him, either.
Feel better!
