Home Alone...

Hi Friends,

Well I am getting bored of sitting with my foot up. I guess I am used to doing stuff. I feel great though. No pain in my foot. I don't even need the crutches and its only 3 1/2 days. I did email the doctor yesterday to ask if I could walk without them - but of course he did not answer, so I decided he said yes. LOL Don't worry its just around the house.

Hubby's been working days so just me and the furry girls. I keep showing them my foot and telling them that Mommy has a Boo-Boo, but they just don't understand why we don't go for our walks. Well they still love me anyways.

Here's what I've been eating;
Breakfast yesterday was pancakes made out of the muffin I usually make in the small bowl. I just added more USVA milk, and blueberries. I ate them with my coconut butter on top and dipped them in Natures Hollow Maple Syrup.
Lunch yesterday was 2 of the Cauliflower-cheese-pancakes from the freezer. This time instead of warming them in the microwave I put them on foil in the toaster oven and made them into pizzas. Way better this way.
 My snack was nuts

Dinner was a spinach salad and desert of 2 creamcheese cookies and rediwhip.

OK so the muffin-pancakes was SO GOOD that I made it again this morning for breakfast.
Then I was SO Antsy that I vacuumed the house. I just couldn't stand it anymore.

Lunch was Quinoa with tuna and veggies (onion, garlic, zucchini, mushrooms, kale) and some cumin and chicken bullion for flavor. Good.
 Sorry to repeat stuff for those of you that saw this on Facebook earlier - BUT it was SO GROSS - and worth repeating;

This is for all of my healthy friends that buy raw nuts in bulk like me...
I decided that I was going to take the raw peanuts I had and roast them and make homemade peanut butter.
When I buy my bulk items its always from Sprouts Mkt. I put them in glass jars in the cupboard.
So I grabbed the jar and this is what I see.
TOTALLY GROSSED OUT!!!! WTF!!!
This has happened at the other house we were renting and I thought the bugs were coming out of the walls - now I know its the bins.
So what do I do?? Where do I buy my raw nuts from?? And how do I store them once I get them home??
OK gotta go itch now....F**K I'm still itching...
So It took me quite a while to calm down over that but I managed to and made dinner.

Broccoli, brussel sprouts and salmon with some of my homemade butter, cinnamon, ginger, paprika and salt and pepper on top. Put in a foil pouch in the oven.
I know it sounds weird but I saw it somewhere on the internet and believe it or not it was awesome...
So I have not taken any pain meds for 2 days now.
and here is the side effects of the pain pills I was given after surgery. I only took them the first and second day because I was feeling dizzy and light headed, headaches, and the #2 problem - now I see why.... Hope I get back to normal tomorrow.

***SIDE EFFECTS: The most frequent adverse reactions include lightheadedness, dizziness, sedation, nausea, and vomiting. Other side effects include drowsiness, constipation, and spasm of the ureter, which can lead to difficulty in urinating. Hydrocodone can impair thinking and the physical abilities required for driving or operating machinery. Hydrocodone can depress breathing, and should be used with caution in elderly, debilitated patients and in patients with serious lung disease. Hydrocodone may be habit forming. Mental and physical dependence can occur, but are unlikely when used for short-term pain relief. Acetaminophen can cause severe liver failure if excessive amounts are used and when combined with chronic alcohol use or other drugs that also impair liver function.

TMI - but last night I thought I was dying trying to go #2 and now I know why. YISH!!

Sorry again another repeat of Facebook. Some people who read here actually don't have Facebook. Can you imagine. LOL

I don't know how I'm gonna do it - but I really have to wash my hair tomorrow. It's been 3 days for crying out loud. We shall see - IDK how to do it by myself.

I hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  2. You are doing too much!!!Calm down, relax, let yourself go:) Seriously wish I was around and I would help. I haven't bought things out of a bin since I saw the people reaching into them. Yuck!!! How do you know they washed their hands after things, you know? ICK!!!
I am so MAD, I will explain why on my blog.
Get better before you do too much!!! And the thing on the pain pills, without TMI, they really did a number on my husband after his back surgery. He almost had me take him to emergency. I don't know how in the heck people become addicted to them!

  3. I'm happy to hear you are getting around so well so soon! Can you bend over into your kitchen sink to wash your hair? I rarely buy out of the bulk bins, mostly because we don't have them at our local store, but primarily because it sort of creeps me out that other people stick their hands in there, too. Guess that'll be the last time you buy peanuts from them. Eww.

  5. So glad your foot isn't hurting and I think I warned you about the constipation part of taking prescription pain pills....let's just say that I've learned from experience and es no bueno!!!!! Take a bunch of your psyllium and your probiotics and you should do better :) Ok, the peanut thing was nasty.....so glad I didn't look at FB, yesterday, because I was too busy buying peanuts in bulk at Sprouts......LOL! I only bought about 1/2 cup of the roasted peanuts for a salad I was making so no bugs, I hope. As for the hair, use the kitchen sink and the pull out faucet. I had to do that for my daughter when she broke her arm in May. he only prob with washing her hair in the sink is that she has super long hair and a ton of it so it got really really heavy and was trailing down the drain. Her neck was killing her more than her arm...LOL! If that doesn't work, buy some dry shampoo and spray it on (Batiste from Ulta comes in a bunch of scents and works well), otherwise use corn starch, put it in your hair and rub it in and then brush excess out (I haven't tried the cornstarch, but read about it, and I use dry shampoo sometimes because my hair is super oily). Good Luck!

  7. I read that raw nuts go rancid very easily. Maybe the worms/bugs came due to that. I saw on a Dr show that raw nuts should be refrigerated as soon as purchased to avoid this.

    Might be worth a try?

Try and take it easy. SO happy you are feeling better but you don't want to undo any good you have going.

    Blessings and Hugs, :)

  8. Oh ugga bugga! That happened to me once, but with weevils. They were everywhere! I even had to rip up the carpet in the bottom of the pantry because they kept coming, and it turns out there were bazillions of them under there!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
