Do NOT be on a Diet....

Good Sunday Morning Friends,

Today is gonna be another HOT one over here in Southern California. Its been bet 95-100 for many days now. I am very glad the AC is working good in our new home.

So yesterday was the first day I got out of the house by myself since my foot surgery over a week and a half ago, YUP driving and all. My foot didn't hurt with the driving but the boot thing on my foot is kind of big and I accidentally pushed the brake a few times. SHH

I went to the Post Office - then I went to AMC and saw a movie alone. Hubby was working. I like to watch movies alone. I remember a long time ago - I thought people would stare cause you are by yourself, or Feel uncomfortable, but I love it. I saw The City of Bones. WOW I LOVED it!! Totally my kind of movie - for sure.

Then on the way home I stopped at sams club. When I got home and put the stuff away, I took the furry girls for a walk. I used my fancy $4 cane I got the other day all day today. My foot feels pretty good and I SERIOUSLY want to unwrap it. I emailed the doc and asked if I could take the bandages off now - waiting.....

Here's what I've been eating;

Yesterday I ate some eggs with sauted kale and 2 homemade corn tortillas with chia seeds inside.
 I did not eat lunch cause I was at the movies and ate popcorn. That's what I do to allow for the extra calories from the popcorn. Of course - NO butter.

For dinner I ate a spinach salad and 2 of my creamcheese cookies from the freezer with some RediWhip for desert.

Breakfast this morning was my Alpine Valley 12 grain toast with my homemade nut butter on top, 2 eggs with a bit of cheese inside and berries.
For any new people that are reading this, I don't eat to lose weight now - I am done with that, however I do eat the same way as I did while losing. I just eat HEALTHY. Now I might eat a few more berries and I have found many more recipes now than I had while losing. But basically the same. That will never change.

Make sure you are eating the way you can see yourself eating for the rest of your life. Do NOT be on a diet with a lot of restrictions. That will work temporarily but when you try to eat normally - it will come back.

Learn how to figure out what you are allowed to eat on your own. Learn how to read labels and figure out the s/c values on your own. Read all the ingredients. After all YOU are the one trying to lose the weight and get healthy. If you depend on someone else to get there - well then it might not happen.

If you see some else post a picture of a food or recipe and they say it is healthy, don't believe them - look at labels and learn how to figure that out on your own.

I do the original Belly Fat Cure, That's what I did to lose all my weight and continue to eat that way now, so (for example) if I see someone post a recipe with applesauce or a banana for instance - I know its not for me. I have learned since eating this way that 1 banana has 14 grams of sugar in it depending on its size - maybe even more. I have had a bit a few times of one though, but that's it.

If you are doing the BFC and are still not sure how to figure this stuff out - go back and read the book again. Jorge tells us how in there.

  2. Sounds like you are feeling wonderful ! Hopefully you can unwrap yourself soon :)

    Once I found the BFC ( & you) I never felt like this was a "diet". I feel like I can eat like this forever, I tweaked my carbs/sugar & have recently gave up wheat and I can't even believe to tell you how AMAZING I feel !!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
