Fair yesterday...

Good Monday Morning Folks,

I hope you all had a nice weekend, but if not - then make today YOUR day!! Try to find the best out of what you have and just Take control of it!! You know the glass half empty or half full thingy..

Welcome to all the new people on here. No negative stuff here - just support and encouragement to help you reach and stay at your healthy goals. **If any of you are struggling with your weight loss, I want you to close your eyes and take a deep breath - Now think about what you are doing or eating to sabotage yourself -  and tweak and FIX it!!

If you think by eating 6 servings of carbs a day is too much - then cut it back.

Make sure that you are eating foods that contain the most fiber, protein, lowest amounts of sugar and yes even calories in some cases. I do look at them - but never count them.

Try to eat good amounts of the (right kind) of green veggies.  I like kale, spinach, broccoli, brussel sprouts, zucchini, asparagus. You can't go wrong with any of these.

Saturday morning's breakfast; I made one of my muffins and put in some crushed walnuts and blueberries and put some of my homemade coconut butter on top.
 So after hubby took a couple hour nap in the morning after working the night shift, we went to go see the conjuring. We both ate popcorn instead of lunch, I ate 2 squares of 86% dark chocolate I had in my purse and of course water.

OK so I thought it was good and a bit scary but not SOOO scary. Those of you that know me - know some of that crapp was already happening to me so - it seemed very realistic. It was a true story and must have been frightening to the real people.

I am sure I took the Furry girls for a walk when I got home - I always do, even when I don't feel like it. They are just so cutie pootie faces - I can't say no.

Middle-Heimers - LOL can't remember my dinner 2 days ago.

Breakfast yesterday; AlpineValley 12 grain toast, and eggs scrambled with baby spinach and a bit of cheese.
Around 9am-iish Hubby woke up and off we went to the O.C. (Orange County) Fair. If we got there between 10-11 am you could get in on the weekends for just $3, and $10 for parking.

We walked around and first Hubby had this maple glazed bacon doughnut. I had a few bites and - seriously I think it gave me a dizzy sugar high for a hour or so.
 Then we both ate 2 pieces of this deep fried - bacon wrapped Pickle.

We seriously had every intention of coming back here to eat something else BACONY - but never made it.
 This was just so amazing - made out of sand - what talent!

And finally me on the Tootsie-Wootsie machine. It makes your tired feet and back feel so much better for only 25 cents. 
We got home around 3:30 I think and Hubby fell asleep on the chair and I ate a spinach salad, then around 5 YES -even though I was so tired, I took the Furry girls for a long walk. We were walking on one of the horse trails - not behind the houses, on the main street and I was wearing flip-flops and it is mostly made of sand - and for some reason I started slipping and wound up right on my Butt.

The dogs were absolutely NO help - just smiling and wagging ran over and licked my face. No helping paw up or nothing. LOL

Nothing else for dinner except I ate some berries with rediwhip - that's all I wanted.

Have a nice day - its supposed to be 87, clear and gorgeous today.

  3. So how were the bacon wrapped pickles? And will you be low-carb redoing them? Looks like you had rather a lot of fun at the fair. Our fair's been the same ol' same ol' for as far as I can remember, though I have to admit we haven't gone the past several years. Small towns. What can you do. Hmm. I was hoping you'd say that The Conjuring was pee-your-pants scary. Then I may have been convinced to go see it right away. I think I will wait for it to hit the $3 theater.

  4. Glad to see you having some quality time with hubby. Looks like you had alot of fun! Aren't the sand sculptures amazing. We had the world championship a couple of weeks ago near us in Atlantic City. Probably some of the same people came to your fair. Just amazing what they do. Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
