I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I was supposed to rain over here wound up just a few sprinkles in my area. Nice overall.
My breakfast Saturday morning was some Oasis toast with butter and the last of my chocolate-hazelnut butter, 1/2 avocado and 2 eggs.
I wanted to get a good breakfast in before I went to the funeral. A friend of Hubby's mom passed. Hubby felt terrible that he could not go but has been working the day shift and couldn't get it off. They had been friends for like 60 years. She was very loved and the service and all of it was beautiful. The pastor was awesome and the songs. The pastor even found a way to make a few jokes and make everyone laugh in such a sorrowful time. It did make me a tiny bit sad thinking about my son and wishing his service was even a little close to this one.
We went from the church to the cemetery and then back o the church for what they call a Re-Pass, food. I know what that means now. We finally got to eat around 2pm. I had a pc of chicken and took off the skin, green beans and salad and about 3 bites of a roll and 3 bites of some lemon pound cake after. They had 3 kinds of pasta - none of that for me. They also had lemonade on each table, so I had to go search for water.
On the way home traffic was horrible and took me over an hour. Bad accidents. I had a Browkie muffin in a baggie that I put in my purse in the morning before I left and ate that in the traffic.
I came home and took the furry girls for a walk then got a stick up my butt like I usually do when I am alone too long.
I made some homemade Almond-Joy butter and Homemade Real Butter

It was so good I couldn't wait to taste it.
I sliced 2 strawberries in half and put some Almond-Joy on top. Delish!!
Breakfast yesterday was Oasis toast with my homemade butter and almond-joy on top, turkey bacon, eggs and a few berries.
Lunch was a can of chicken, mayo, avocado cut up, 1/2 tomato, 1/3 cucumber cut up and some cheese and baby spinach.
I went and picked up Maria and the 2 of us went to Hubby's Mom for dinner. We got there around 4:15 and then like 5 minutes later she was like, well lets eat...Really? So early? oh well I guess they w re waiting for us.I had a pc of chicken and took off the skin, greens, broccoli, just a few bites of each mac & cheese and sweet potato (which was too sweet for me). Then after dinner I had about 4 bites of some pound cake. Hubby got there around 6:30 after he got off work and stayed for a tiny bit and we went home.
He is off today for 1 day then works nights for 7 nights in a row. Maybe I can get some sleep while he is gone. LOL Probably not though. I haven't slept in a week now.
Have a nice day.
This is PurpleRosy signing off...

ReplyDeleteThose strawberries look amazing! Do you use the metal blade on your food processor when you make the nut butters?
ReplyDeleteYes I use the metal blade on the nut butters and the plastic one on breads and muffins.
DeleteI'm glad the funeral went well and you were able to go in your husband's place. Easter dinner sounded good and you did well choosing the right foods! That almond joy stuff sounds delicious! They used to be one of my favorite candy bars, back in the old days, lol! Get some sleep!!
ReplyDeletelove those strawberries! Good luck with the sleep.
ReplyDeleteHi Rosalie, just a thought on sleep for you (since I am currently battling insomnia) - I've read that we need glucose (from carbs) to make serotonin (which converts to melatonin to help us sleep) and we also need glucose to help tryptophan (that's a more complicated one). Suffice to say that not eating any carbs later in the day may not help with sleep. Women are especially sensitive to these issues. Hope all is well otherwise :)
ReplyDelete5HTP can also be good for sleep and serotonin production.
