Homemade Real Butter and Almond-Joy Butter...

Hi Friends,

Recently I shared 2 posts I saw someone else share on Facebook.
One was for homemade Almond-Joy Butter
The other was for Homemade real butter.

I just made them both in my food processor and kit was SUPER EASY...

First Up - Homemade Butter
I bought a container of Organic Heavy Cream from Sprouts
Put in the food processor, If you add a bit of stevia - this is how you make homemade Whipped Cream.

For Butter - Add some sea salt if you like.
I know-I know you will be attempted to eat it at this point, but just keep going.
Keep going - keep going - THEN ----SNAP... it suddenly separates and turns into butter.
I opened it up  and was like.... WHAT?? It worked.

Massage the butter a bit with your CLEAN bare hands to squeeze the liquid out.

Now drain off the liquid (save that in a container in the fridge for pancakes or muffins or something)

and now you have FRESH-REAL-BUTTER. No junk added. Holy Crap! I just wanted to eat a big spoonful. LOL But I didn't.
Keep in the fridge. But I'm sure you already know that.

Next up -  Homemade Almond-Joy Butter

via The Freckled Foodie

Ingredients;

1/2 c Raw Almonds
1 c shredded, unsweetened coconut
1/4 tsp fine sea salt (oopsy I forgot this)
1-1.5 Tbsp cocoa powder
1-2 Tbsp Natures Hollow Maple Syrup
8 drops of Sweetleaf stevia drops
1-3 tsp almond oil

Start with the coconut flakes in the food processor first
Stop and keep scraping down the sides a few times
Add in the almonds and keep processing
After it starts to breakdown add in the other ingredients.

So GOOD...

I really hope you all enjoy these 2 goodies.

Keep on BFC ' n :-)

  1. Rosalie - Butter making seems so simple! What did you think of the butter after you refrigerated it?

    1. It was super easy and after it was in the fridge it got a little hard like butter from the store does. I will never buy butter again!

  4. Personally, I use the Horizon Heavy Whipping Cream from Costco. It is Organic and it is made without the use of Antibiotics, hormones, pesticides or cloning.

  5. I remember making butter from Heavy Whipping Cream once. It was so easy, that it wasn't even on purpose. I was cooking a holiday dinner and just left the whipping cream in my mixer to make whipped cream and, well, I left it too long. By the time I got back to it, it was butter! lol!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
