Good Thursday Morning to you - my Friends,
I haven't been blogging every day because as I said in my last post, I am not feeling all that fantastic lately. Remember that I told you the beginning of this month, (February) was the first time my monthly ever skipped for me. I am 54 now and first time.
Ever since my tummy has been feeling weird and achy and kind of bloated and I have gained a couple lbs over the past 2 weeks. You know how we ALL take that kind of news - not that great. I kind of lost it yesterday when the scale said 154. Today it said 152, so I am just gonna try harder to get it back between 145-150 that is where I feel best for my age and height of 5'7".
My mom passed 11 years ago and I really don't have anyone to ask about this. My doctor told me last year that I have to not have a period for a whole year to be called in Menopause... So I am kind of on my own.
We have still been looking at other houses all the time as new listings come up, but still keep waiting for the short sale. It just seems to be the best neighborhood and with the least repairs to be done. So we wait...
About a month ago I sold my Mikasa dishes that I have had for - I don't know.... like 12 years or so because I was just in need of a change. So now I have $180 from them and have been looking at different stores for a new set. I want nice-everyday ones and am still looking. That takes a lot of time and I am running out of places to look. I think I might drive out to that *Richy* South Coast Plaza today or tomorrow and look at high end stores. CAREY I'm gonna call you....Do you want to come with??
My breakfast Tuesday was toast and eggs with cheese and berries.
Lunch we were at the mall looking at dishes and I had veggies and chicken but only ate like 1/3.
I made some homemade Almond Butter later on when I got home. I roast the almonds on a cookie sheet at 275 for 20 minutes stirring every 5, cooled and put in my food processor and added some Sweetleaf vanilla stevia and a little bit of Almond oil. YUM!!
I think I had a spinach salad and wings for dinner
Yesterday for breakfast I had some toast with the almond butter and berries.
Lunch I made a pizza with spinach cut up as the crust made the same way as the zucchini or cauliflower crust. It was good and healthy. I put hummus, tomato and turkey pepperoni on top. After I ate 1 of my Thin-Mint cookies.
Dinner last night was turkey, broccoli and brussel sprouts.
Breakfast this morning was AWESOME!! Well to me anyways.
I cooked some chorizo, mushrooms, baby spinach, cheese with 2 eggs. I also made a homemade corn tortilla and put some chia seeds in for added fiber.
I have to clean the house today or tomorrow - I like to do it when Hubby is at work days like now.
Have a great day.
This is PurpleRosy signing off...
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

Some tips if you are having trouble
- First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
- Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
- Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
- Make sure you drink lots of water.
- Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
- Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
- Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
- Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
I hope this helps.

ReplyDeleteGo to the Dr. and have a hormone panel done? You don't have to feel bad, you can feel good.
ReplyDeleteYou may not like them, but I love Fiesta Ware dishes. I would get one of every color and they are bright and happy. I have black currently, which I love, but Fiesta ware would be a happy change. I'm too cheap to spend money on dishes when I need a new sofa for my living room:)
Have a great day!!!
I am sorry you are feeling bad. :( My mom had a hysterectomy so I don't know when she stopped her monthlys, too bad. You can get that weight off. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHey Rosalie! Sounds like you are starting to go through the change. It has to end at some point...right!? My Mom was in her early 50's but she didn't have a weight issue like I've had most of my adult life. I'm still going through female stuff but my issue is the opposite. I keep bleeding. This last sretch has been going on since Christmas day! UGH! Your weight seems to be dropping back though, that is good! I want to try your corn tortilla's soon, they look so good! Thank you for your encouragement as always!
ReplyDeleteSo funny, that I was going to head over to SCP tomorrow! I need to go across the street to Pottery Barn to look at a coffe table. Sorry I havent been posting responses to blogs, but Been super stressed at work and worked with my boss and haven't slept because of the neighbors porch light! At this point, I don't think anything I write or say makes sense because I'm sooo drained and exhausted. Anyhow, I was going to head to SCP after my walk and shower (maybe 11ish), but can only stay until 2 because I have to pick my son up from school! Let's do it and go to lunch somewhere! Call me!

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I still get my period, but can't wait for the day it finally stops. I started at 11 and I'm 52 so that is a long time to have a onthy visitor!! Regarding the dishes, I am partial to white plates. They make all food look better, and they can be used for fancy or casual. I have the lenox butlers pantry and I love them. I like white sheets, white towels and white dishes. I could even go cream, but white for those items seems so classy and luxurious to me. Notice on the cooking channel how alot of the chefs serve on white plates. That's just my opinion. I think you can look at Homegoods, TJ Maxx and those sort of places too. YOu can find great deals. XO!
