I Realize How This Might Happen...

Hello Friends,

I realize how easy it is to slip and go back to your old ways and gain all the weight back. I have met so many people in the past 3 years of eating this way that say.... I lost (blah-blah-blah) lbs this many years ago and then gained it all back.

After eating this way for so long I DO Realize how this might happen....

Other family members that love you and your friends really DON"T care or want you to succeed and be thin and healthy. Not really. Not what you wanted to hear???? Sorry........ But it's the truth!!!

They want you to eat like them - and with them - what ever they are eating - and if you don't, well - it kind of offends them.

How many times have I told you that this is all in your HEAD?? It's all up to YOU whether you will be healthy and succeed at your weight loss and Keep it off for ever or not!!

I can't tell you how many times I hear stuff like;
You're thin now and can eat what ever you want!!
Oh once in a while is OK!!
It's a special occasion today!!

All though these people think they mean well, that is far from the truth and we just CAN'T listen.

I'm gonna say this AGAIN!!

I can NEVER be the way I was before!!
I can NEVER eat the way I did before!!

EVER!!

If I do start giving in - I will LOOK the way I did before!!
And that makes me want to cry!! NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!
I didn't work this hard to look like this again!!
END OF STORY!!

OK?? So everybody get your Sh*t together and be strong and don't listen to them. If you want to be healthy, Well then just do it Damn it!! No excuses!!

OK now that I am done yelling at you, here's what I ate yesterday;
Breakfast was 2 Oasis toast with chocolate-hazelnut butter, eggs and berries.

I left around lunch time and went to Sprouts to buy some stuff.
 They didn't have my Oasis low-carb bread yesterday but I found a new one. All organic ingredients, 46 calories, 9 carbs, 2.5 fiber and 1 sugar per slice.

I ate a snack of 1/2 cup of greek yogurt, and sprinkled  some exekiel cereal on top (looks like grape nuts) and drizzled a little raspberry Nature's hollow syrup on top.
OK so I was still hungry and at a little popcorn.
Me and the furry girls went for a 2 mile walk. I pass this old wall all the time on my walks and think it is so cool so I took a picture.
For dinner I made some stir fry veggies with turkey meatballs. I used some Braggs and alfredo sauce for flavor. Hubby loved it.

For desert I ate one of my Scones from the other day and some decaf tea.
During the day I made some Pumpkin Brownies;
They came out real moist but I feel like they are missing something. Maybe a bit sweeter?? Someone else make them and tell me what it is???

Thanks for listening to me today.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

"Nothing can stop the man or woman with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal"

Keep on BFC ' n :-)

  1. You hit the nail on the head with that one! I was just thinking yesterday how those that are supposed to love you the most are the ones that sabotage you when it comes to food. I don't know if it's jealousy or just flat out disregard, but it is very frustrating.

    I'm very proud of you Rosalie. You are my inspiration and a great friend!

  4. You are so right! Everything seems to revolve around eating. I have diabetes, so I get to use that for an excuse and not offend anyone that wants me to pig out with them.

  5. Hello, I can't wait to be thin and someone try to tempt me. I remember last time I lost all my weight and how empowering it was to say "NO THANK YOU". Actually I can be a little rude, sometimes I would say, "YOU CAN'T PAY ME TO EAT THAT". FEEL THE POWER YOU HAVE,
    like you say it's all up to us.
    I did eventually gained the weight back when I hurt my back, got really lazy, and depressed. I'm ready now this weight is going-gone.

  6. That's my MIL ... lol! My FIL lost 30 pounds after he was diagnosed pre diabetic following WB and she keeps telling him he can eat stuff he shouldn't have now. We went out to dinner last week and he had some things I know he shouldn't have. I phoned and made him test his glucose after the dinner and ... shocking ... it was high. It’s also a slippery slope – you think it’s ok to have such and such just this one time but that opens the door for more “cheating” and we all know where that will end up. We get fat and diabetic because our insulin/glucose metabolism is not working well anymore. The ONLY way to fix you is to adopt the low carb eating style and stick with it. Everyone's "low carb" might be different (some can handle 100 gr/day and some will not be able to handle that much). You are ABSOLUTEY right that it has to be a permanent eating change or we will be yo yoing up and down the rest of our lives. Amber's sister (Misha) said something in one post about living like your diabetic for the rest of your life and that is the reality if you want to keep the weight off. It's just our new reality. Nice post Rosalie!

  7. Thanks for the pep talk!! Since I've lost almost 60lbs (current weight 197) the haters are coming out of everywhere. A friend made fun of my giant baggy pants one day when I saw her after work. I was like well I work with teenage boys so the looser my clothes are the better. Plus I sag just like them, so they can relate to me. Just trying to change the subject but she continued.. I had a dream that you were a size 8, you not want to be THAT skinny do you? And I was like I don't know where this going, I feel good and like what I eat. Really in my head I was saying "B#+%^ you better get off my ass and mind your business this is MY body and I can make it anything I want!" I ranted to my husband later, he's been the BEST. Thanks as always for everything.

  8. So true. I still think that I can go back to old eating. I had mac and cheese the other night at a restaurant!! I NEVER DO THAT! That's why I'm not at my goal yet, but I'm still trying. Right now I'm trying to cut out the carbs and doing a modified Atkins/BFC. Just trying to shake things up a bit. I know I can never give up carbs forever. Just need a jumpstart to get my head back in the game. Nothing like a little fast weight loss to do that! Thanks as usual for keeping us all in line and telling us like it really is. Also always great recipe ideas from you! XO

  9. I think you're right about people sometimes getting a bit offended that you are not eating the way they eat. I get a lot of "Oh, that's right you don't eat sugar" in a tone that suggests I'm an idiot on some fad diet. Just have to keep telling myself that I am trying to be healthy and they are not. Hopefully one day everyone will be wiser.

  10. Hey Rosalie,
    I have went off and on this plan so much, it's crazy. I have it in my HEAD that in ordere to be on a "diet" and to lose weight, I must feel deprived and eat very little. So on BFC, I feel like i'm eating soooo much then I think, this is dumb, this won't work, and off the plan I go!!! Time and Time again I do this. I have never stuck with BFC for longer than a few days and then these thoughts start. I need to put my faith in it and just do it for a month and see how I feel and see how clothes feel. I come here everyday to read you post to try to find this faith I need and I think you finally gave this to me today w this post :-) You are the best and your transformation makes me believe this does work and I can do it :-)

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
