Hello Friends,
I woke up this morning to what sounded like I was in the Wizard of OZ movie. It was so windy outside over here I thought the house was gonna blow away. The weather is still the same the past week or so around 50ish and clear.
Yesterday after my healthy pancake breakfast and after hubby woke up from working the night shift the night before we went to the movies. I packed a baggie for the 2 of us with a cheese and about 12 turkey pepperonis to eat. I also had 2 squares of 86% dark chocolate which I always carry in my purse.
That was my lunch - well that and popcorn w/o the butter. We saw the Gangster squad then we it got out he wanted to go and sneak into Zero Dark 30, so we did. I did what he wanted because he has been working SO much O.T. and I know how tired he is and just went with it. You know I would have loved a scary movie better. They were both very good and of course a lot of violence, but very good acting.
By the time we got home we turned on the TV to watch the Golden globes and we missed the beginning. Around 6pm the dogs kept looking at me with those cute smiling eyes so I bundled up and took them on a A QUICK 1 mile walk in the very cold weather.
When we got back and after I warmed up I felt hungry so I made a snack for myself.
1/2 cucumber sliced with some Brie cheese and avocado.
Eva had mentioned in my last post how she can't believe that she is eating such fatty foods and she still lost weight...........
It does take a while to grasp the BFC. You have to forget everything you've learned about weight loss and reverse it. We have always been taught that eggs, cheese, nuts, avocado, etc is way too fattening and bad for us.
But one of the things I have learned while I was losing those 90 lbs is by eliminating all the bad carbs and junk food and everything that contains way too much sugar and artificial sweeteners is all it takes to lose weight.
Just Change What You Eat - That's IT!!!
By joining this blog and the many others on my Blog list you will get tons of support that you need to succeed. As we find new recipes that fit into the BFC we share those with you too and tons of useful tips you won't find in the books.
Remember that we are all different and won't lose the weight at the same pace. You Will NOT lose 4-9 lbs every week doing this (maybe just the first few), but if you do it right and don't give up - You Will get to your GOAL!!
Thanks for listening and Big HUGs for you all.
This is PurpleRosy signing off...
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

Some tips if you are having trouble
- First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
- Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
- Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
- Make sure you drink lots of water.
- Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
- Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
- Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
- Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
I hope this helps.

I love Brie! Yum :) I've been reading a lot lately about Boursin cheese too. Very low carb I guess. I tried the cranberry over the holidays and it was yum but I've been reading how some use the garlic/herb version and melt it in things (like sautéed mushrooms). Might have to give that a try too.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm craving brie :) Stay warm today and maybe don't go walking.....otherwise you might end up in Kansas! LOL
