A Day at the Races...

Good Morning Friends,

Yesterday was a LONG day for me. The night before my friend that I have never met in person before came down this way for a AMA motorcycle flat track race here in Pomona. She is a cycle race freak and goes to all the races. This one is very close to me.

I was supposed to go to a B-day party with Hubby on Saturday, but he got everything mixed up with the times and was at work in the day so I decided to buy a ticket and go with Mayra to the race. Never been to anything like that before.
I made her eat breakfast. She never does which is bad. She ate most of it.
And as usual I got ZERO sleep again. Geeze look at the big baggage under my eyes.
This is my Friend Mayra
This is me with # 42 Brian Smith. He wound up 3rd place in the big race. He was very popular.
This was his booth that we sat next to. I was helping Mayra sell her Ricky Graham T-shirts.
 Lots of people.
And a beautiful day. That's where we were down in the pitts all day. It was a beautiful day of 80 degrees.
We got there around 11:30 am and the races didn't start until 7pm and we didn't get out of there and back home until 11:30 pm.

What a long day for me. We were on our feet and in the sun most of the day. We finally ate lunch at 3pm and I was hungry to say the least. There were 2 roach coaches, one said Sliders and the other said Nachos something... So we chose the Mexican food. I had to soft tacos that were so good, meat, cheese, and hot sauce on corn tortillas. You know they always double them so I pulled off the outer ones.

I had some nuts and squares of 86% dark chocolate in my small purse and nibbled on that during the day. I am pretty sure I didn't drink enough water at all. They were $3-4 per bottle. I wound up very cold and tired by the end of the day - but it was a fun day.

I did meet a guy who said his brother and nephew got killed in a car accident 2 days before my son did. That kind of hit home a little. We totally understood what each other was feeling.

Around 6:30 we went to Brian's tent and they had food. Like BBQ style stuff so I had a Bratwurst, a slice of tomato, lettuce and a slice of cheese.
My breakfast this morning was 1 pumpkin and 1 chocolate cheesecake muffin, turkey bacon and berries and much needed COFFEE..

I don't know what today holds for me. Hubby is working again and me and the 3 furry girls are alone as usual. Maybe a walk in a bit.

Thanks for listening and have a great day!!

My thought for the day:

Constant Kindness

Constant Kindness Positive QuoteConstant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  2. You always make such great choices when you are out and about, it's very inspiring. Last night when I was falling asleep I thought to myself, 'Maybe there will be a time in my life when I'm okay with having just popcorn for dinner, like Rosalie does.' Not that it's a good thing to do all of the time, but it's inspiring to see other making good decisions in terms of carb intake. Thanks for sharing.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
