Yesterday was a beautiful day outside. It started off overcast so I thought it would stay that way for a while so I could do yard work. NOT
I ate a big breakfast:
Then paid bills and balanced the checkbooks, wrote my blog then off to start the front yard. You know that app called CardioTrainer that I use to track when I walk?? Well it has a setting for yard work and I turned it on while I was doing the front. It said in the 2 hours it took me, I burned 564 calories - WOW! who knew you would burn that much off.
I carried everything to the back for later. All I know it - I was tired and came in for a rest and lunch;
I ate 3 of those cheese biscuits that were left. 1 with natures hollow inside and the other 2 with a slick of turkey, 1/2 slice of cheese, lettuce and some horseradish mayo.
Then back out to the back yard. That took me 1 hour and 21 min and I burned another 383 calories. I rested for a bit and then took the dogs for a short walk - another 73 calories.
snack was 2 squares of 86% dark chocolate.
dinner:
turkey medallions, broccoli and some pesto sauce for flavor. |
Desert was some chia seed pudding w/RediWhip. |
The other day I was walking the dogs and saw a neighbor and we were talking and I brought up the OWL thing. She said they are in her yard too and drive them crazy and she said she was throwing tennis balls at them one time and hit one and scared it away for the moment. We are infested over here HELP!!
I didn't sleep well last night at all - between the sore muscles and the owls - I woke up this morning with a headache, still do. I need more coffee.
Have a great day all.
This is PurpleRosy signing off...
My thought for the day:
Joy

That's a lot of yard work! Can the city do anything about the owls? Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world did you do that much yard work in one day!! And now you're cleaning bathrooms?! You are one hard worker Rosalie. I think Dawn has a good idea about calling animal control about your owl problem. You could also call the department of natural resources to see if they have a game warden that might come out. I think owls might be protected species and they might relocate them for you.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a show from a few years ago called Futurama in which it was the future and NYC was infested with owls. I hope you manage to get better sleep.
ReplyDeletethat's a lot of yard work. An epsom salt bath would help your sore muscles.
ReplyDeleteWOW - you've been a busy girl. I love yardwork when I actually have time to do it. Your food looks wonderful. Hope the headache went away - I get them too and HATE them!! Have a great day :)
ReplyDeleteDoes your new house have that much yard work to do? You are a good woman!!!
ReplyDeleteWow I'm impressed with all you do! I can't muster motivation let alone strength to do house work...and I won't do yard work. Sigh. Have you thought of buying a white noise machine/sound machine to sleep with? We've had one for years since DH used to work nights. We the first one we had died we bought another at BedBath&Beyond with an alarm clock in it. It has a lot of different sounds (babbling brook, rain, and I can't remember the others)
