Yesterday morning I was getting ready to get in the shower and Hubby came home from working nights and said; You look thin. Your body is changing. I said really why? But I have lost a few lbs. I guess it made a difference.
Its funny because no matter how much weight I lose, I look down at myself and always see flaws. Loose skin, and fat thighs. That's funny coming from someone who bought a size 4 jeans huh?
I see the problem that some people have when they reach their goal and then they say - Oh - I'm just gonna see if I can lose 5 more lbs. (not me)
It becomes a bit obsessive. Please don't be like that. I will never be like that.
Ladies as we get older our body will not ever go back to where it was before. I realize that and I know I will never look like I'm 25 again. Well - I'm 53 for pete's sake. I was so big for about 20 years and you just can't expect things to just spring back.
Try to look past the flaws and see the REAL Beauty. Put your clothes back on and look in the mirror again - and say: I Look GOOD!!
My breakfast yesterday was a hot-link, berries and some pancakes made w/1/4 c of almond flour, 1/4 c ground flaxseed, 1 tb off coconut flour, 2 eggs, cinnamon, 1/2 t baking powder and enough unsweetened almond milk to make it the right consistency. This batch makes 6.
This was hubby's breakfast; 2 eggs w/the hotlink cut up, onion, baby spinach, cheese and avocado. And he ate my other 3 pancakes.
I spent the morning trying to be quiet while he slept cause he worked nights and I took down the rest of the curtains and rods from the great room, patched all the holes and washed the curtains and got them ready for the new house. I figure if I do stuff a little at a time, everything will be ready at the end of the month for the move.
It seems like we are having one problem after the other with the lender's underwriter. Maybe we are not meant to get the new house - IDK. See there's that Karma thing we were talking about yesterday.
My lunch was a Almond crust pizza. I use 1/2 c almond flour, 1/2 c different shredded cheese, 1 egg, 2 t olive oil and some spices: garlic pwdr, red pepper, italian spices. Nix all together and bake at 350 for 15 min and then remove and add toppings and put under broiler for 5 or more minutes.
I spent the afternoon shredding 2 more boxes of old records. I have to tell you that it's not fun at all. 1 more box today to go and then will be done with that.
I took the girls for a short 1.2 mile walk. Dinner was just some wings and a spinach salad.
No matter how old you are, or how much weight you need to lose, I want you to know - YOU CAN DO IT!! If I can - then so can YOU!!
Thanks for listening and have a great day.

Hi There,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to thank you for your blog. I love it. I also wanted to let you know that there is a solution for the loose skin. Dry brushing. Google it. I do it and it is really helping. You can also check out T-Tapp. Its exercise that is easy looking but will tone and tighten. Thanks again, Kim Fackler
I agree about the never being happy about the how we look part. I always think I need to lose more weight because I don't look like I used to (you know when I was 20 and taught 3 aerobic classes a day and before kids).....Haha. I do need to tone up, but maybe tone up my brain to realize that I will be 41 in 3 weeks! On another note, I'm sure things will work out in the end with the house. Remember that escrow is one of the most stressful events in life! Wait it out and what happens, happens for a reason! Hang in there ;)

Hey it's Friday-enjoy your weekend. And enjoy the sweet compliment from your hubby.
ReplyDeleteTake Care-
What is your new weight Rosalie!? I was just telling my sister that even though I've been at the same weight for over 18 mnths, my body continues to change. My clothing fits much better now than it did when I first got to my goal weight... its weird. Cant really explain it. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteWhen you eat a low calorie/low fat diet you sacrifice your lean muscle mass. Perhaps this new way of eating (protein and good fats) keeps you burning fat but maintaining (or gaining) muscle. I'm thinking that would make you slimmer but keep the same weight (roughly). I've read when your carb intake is low enough that your body takes care of excess calories/fat at night while you're sleeping (it burns them off for fuel) - that's the difference between being a "sugar burner" and a "fat burner" (we want to be fat burners). The idea being that if we eat the proper foods our body will naturally maintain an ideal weight. Rosalie you continue to inspire! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteI could swear I had commented on your post? I am so excited for you!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things that I would like to change about the naked me, but the clothed me, looks OK:)
