I was the Mom Driver today...

Hello Friends,

Today is Monday and I woke up this morning up 4lbs. Yup - and do I sound worried?? Well maybe just a tiny bit. So here's what I think the reason is:

Saturday and Sunday Hubby and I went to see a movie both days and you know what that means right? Lots of popcorn - BOTH days. I did skip lunch both days and just ate some lunch meat w/a cheese in the middle.

Yesterday (Sunday) I ran out of my Pro-Biotics and didn't get to take any. And to top that off - I started my monthly. So those are the reasons that I think I am up, and hopefully by tomorrow or the next day - I will be back to normal.

Last night Hubby's mom (who was at the hospital for a few days - but is home and feeling a bit better now), called us and said she had a doctors appt and needed someone to take her cause she was not quite 100% yet. Hubby had to work M-Th this week day shift and tried to switch a couple hours to take her but couldn't - so I was elected.

So knowing that I had to get up at the crack of whatever, could not sleep. I woke up and was ready to leave by 6:50 am. I had my mug of coffee, 2 turkey bacon, a flaxseed muffin and some berries all on a paper plate to eat in the car on the way. Got to her house thru traffic by 8:15 and took her to her (insert finger quoted here) appointment.

It was not a appt at all - in fact it was a Rehab place and she had no appt and we actually could have gone at any time at all. So I waited then took her home when we were done and told her if she needed a ride again and did not feel well to just call me and I will be happy to. (cheesey Grin)

Then I went to Pick up Maria (step-Mom), she said she had to go to a clinic. I got there around 11 and was kind of hungry so she fed me a leftover pc of meatloaf and some spicy cabbage and a pc of this kind of paper-thin, wheat, 0 sugar-very low carb thingy they got at a market near them. It was like a paper tortilla.

So then we went to the clinic and 1 more errand then back to their house. We talked and laughed and then I went on my way home by 2:30. On the way home in the car I ate 1 of those Think Thin Bites that I got the other weekend w/Carey. They are growing on me - I think.

Got home and me and the girls took our 2.5 mile walk - which I DID NOT WANT TO DO!! My tummy and my hormones are not happy today, but the weather was so beautiful.

Dinner tonight is a pc of tilapia and 6 asparagus and a spinach salad, for desert - CHIA pudding w/some RediWhip - Yum!

Tonight is the Voice night on TV. I hope you all have a great day tomorrow. Please don't forget to visit all my friends blogs on the list below. Support is a big part of the BFC.

Thanks for listening and lots of love to you all.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

Team Dedication

When a gifted team dedicates itself to unselfish trust and combines instinct with boldness and effort, it is ready to climb.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  4. I wondered how your weight was holding in maintenance. So do you usually maintain right at 148 really steady? I maintain a few pounds above my goal weight for some reason... Love the new blog design!

    1. HI Amber, my weight goes between 148-150 but for some reason I have never gone below 148. Funny Huh?
I think a few lbs to play with is fine over our goal weight. :-)

  5. I'm sure the extra 4 lbs was water weight. Since I don't weigh myself, I know when I'm retaining water by how my pants fit and will usually take potassium supplements to displace the sodium. I still don't like those Think Thin bars. What did you think about the Virgils Zero Dr Pepper? It's not exactly the same (more watered down than real DP), but since I haven't had Diet DP in a long time, it wasn't too bad.....especially since its 0/0.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
