New car - Smashed car...

Hello My Friends,

I want to thank my Guest Bloggers that have been on here this past week. I think it's great for everyone to see other people's stories and anyone else who would like to do a Guest Post - just let me know I would love to share with you.

This past several days I feel like I have not been at home that much. Car shopping with Lisa and Hubby, and yesterday Hubby and I went to the movies like we do sometimes on the weekend.

So Friday Lisa and I spent all day looking for cars and Saturday a Cerritos Hyundai dealer contacted me. I did a  trade-in value thing on Kelly Blue Book and he got my info from there. I would up going over there by myself to see if he could do a deal.

I currently drive a 2004 Infinity G35, which don't get me wrong - I love, and its in Great condition w/very low miles. Only 69,000 low for a 2004. I was trying to get them to pay that off and put very little to nothing down. Lisa and I already test drove a Elantra and loved them. So I wound up getting one in Allure red for the same payment amount as my 2004 car was w/only $500 down.

While I am out like this - I always make sure to take a bottle of water and put snacks in my purse. Baggie of nuts, squares of 86% dark chocolate (Ghiradelis midnight revere) and always spry gum.

But it always seems that when I am away from home a lot, and have to eat out, I seem to gain a lb or 2. I think its cause maybe I don't get enough fiber and then have a #2 problem the next morning.

So Lisa was busy Saturday and couldn't go with me cause she wanted to get one too and turn in her car. So she went there yesterday while we were at the movies and she got one in light blue just like mine. Now we are almost car twins.

So I got home from the movies at around 4:30 and right away took the furry kiddies for a 2.5 mile walk with me. I was about 3/4 of the way done when Hubby calls me. He was on his way to work at the FD - night shift. He says I just totaled my car - you have to come and get me. I said shut -up. You're just kidding right? Nope - I had to go and pick him up and AAA towed the car to our house in the garage until Monday when we figure out where to bring it and find something for him to drive now. He is Ok, not hurt, but the car is a different story.

Boy oh Boy - we just don't have very good luck huh?

I got home and started watching the Academy awards but missed like the first 45 minutes and hubby was so pissy and did not want to watch so he went up stairs. Oh well - that's why we have more than 1 TV right?

Well I hope you all have a nice start to your week. Thanks for listening to me today. Big Hugs...

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day:

Growing Happiness

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  6. Oh No!! Well at least he wasn't driving the new car right? Also very glad he was not hurt. Hopefully it was someone else's fault and he can get an nice replacement from insurance.
Question: Did you always walk 2.5 miles or did you build up to that gradually? Did you walk before the BFC? Can you tell I really admire all that walking that you do!

    1. Yes Beth he was driving the car. Not Hurt - thank God!
I always love to walk, but at first just around the block, then more. Now I just go at a steady brisk pace and play music along the way and I love it!
Do it - You will learn to love it too...

  7. Hi! First, I am glad everyone is okay. As someone else commented, material things can be replaced. People can't be. Second, I want to try your Resilina but need to wait a payday or two. Third, I wanted to share that on Sunday I completed the Disney Princess Half Marathon. I walked the whole thing and am overjoyed that I didn't get picked up by the Meat Wagon (what I affectionately call the bus that picks up those who can't maintain the pace requirement). Last, my current weight is 217.4. It's not much different than what you have listed now but I promised myself (good or bad), I would tell you my current weight.

    1. Thanks Dawn I'm glad he's OK too. The coupon above is a great deal and it's good until the end of March - so you have time.
And Great job on the Marathon. I am so proud of you. I could do it walking - but never running.
And great job on the loss, a little bit is some and better than none.
      Keep it up :-)

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
