How I Do It?

Good Morning Friends,

Well today is going to be another beautiful day over here in Southern California. I slept like crap last night. I know how bad that is for your diet when you don't sleep well, but every time I started to get tired and fall asleep, hubby kept snoring and kept waking me up. I am not mad - just aching in my back and muscles.

This morning started out pretty good though. My 27 year old son called me this morning. He NEVER calls me. He actually barely talks to me. Long story, but that kind of made my day.

What I ate yesterday:
breakfast; 4/1
A cinnamon-walnut flax muffin w/berries and turkey bacon.

lunch;  2/1
2 slices of Oasis,low-carb sprouted flaxseed bread, w/tuna made w-1 hard boiled egg, bacon bits, feta cheeese, green olives w/the jalapenos inside cut-up, and 1/2 avocado mushed on the bread first and topped w/swiss cheese.

Between 2-3 I went outside and cut the front and back grass. Nice day. Then bet 3-4 the furry feinds and I went for our 2.5 mile walk. Boy was it windy - but a nice day for a walk.

Came home and had a snack of walnuts and almonds and 1 square of 86% dark chocolate.

dinner;  1/1
Shirataki noodles, broccoli, a salmon patty cooked and cut up, some pesto sauce and shredded parmesan on top.
desert; chia seed pudding topped w/RediWhip.

I've been working real hard all week trying to help Hubby with the Nutritional Earth Facebook page and blog and everything. Since I have no job - this is fine. I just wish I was making money though. I put all the links under the Reslina bottle above left. I sure would appreciate any referrals you could give out for support.

I know a lot of you are wondering how I do it every day. Why don't I ever cheat?

Its simple really - I actually have managed to lose 90lbs by luck or just sheer determination - I don't know, but there is no way I will ever go back to the way I was before. So with that in mind - I Do KNOW now that this is the way I will eat FOREVER if I want to keep looking this way.

That's it.

I know if I ever go back to the way I ate before - I will get fat again. I think that's where most people go wrong after they lose or have the surgery.
They think they can have cheat days - NO
They think they can eat bad just because its a holiday or special occasion - NO
This is why I have said many times, that it's a mind thing to do this. You've got to prepare your mind that this is forever...

  1. Hey Rosalie! It's an easy concept but one that so many (including myself) manage to complicate by over-thinking or inserting days to cheat based on "X,Y,Z". I'm just going to take it each day as it comes. It's one day at a time for me - and so far, so freakin' good :) have a great weekend, lady! Glad you heard from your son!!!

  2. So glad your son called you. For some reason the other day I was thinking about you and wondering how your son was doing. I don't know why, but I was remembering when you were writing about your situation with him. It just came into my mind. Funny that you just mentioned it. I think there are no coincedences. Sending you love and hugs as always.I'm still being a little "sluggish" today, but moving at a quicker speed than yesterday!!

    1. Actually Pattie this was my other son. I have 2 boys and 1 girl, Matthew was the one you are talking about and he calls me at least once every 1 or 2 weeks and is doing great - much better, BTW!

  3. Looking good Rosalie. I intend to eat this way for the rest of my life, just sometimes it doesn't happen. Hopefully the good days will always outweigh the bad days, more and more. :)

  4. Glad your sons call made you happy :) You amaze me that you never cheat. Sometimes it's just so hard.....especially PMS weeks! I get so hungry during that time and just want salt and sweets! Enjoy this beautiful weekend!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
