Maria's Birthday Yesterday...

Good Morning Friends,

Yesterday I started out my day with a healthy breakfast as usual.
2 eggs, turkey bacon, berries and a carb chopper wheat tortilla w/cheese and avocado inside.

Keep in mind that I have now reached my goal weight. Before while I was trying to lose I would have only ate 6-8 berries, but I think that's about 10.

I knew that Maria was gonna be alone for her birthday cause Lisa works nights and sleeps all day. So I left the house around 11:30 and picked up Maria and we went out to lunch in Old Town Pasadena.

This is this special bread that they always serve. I ate only 1/2 of 1 piece w/butter and gave the other one to Maria.

We sat outside at this place called Green Street Restaurant.  I had a chicken cesar salad and 1 bite of her awesome sandwich and about 4 fries and water w/lemon.

Then we went to the Santa Anita Mall to the AMC theater there and saw the movie HUGO. we both loved it.
And of course I had popcorn w/no butter of course. By the time we got back to Maria's house it was around 6pm. I stayed for about 1 & 1/2 hours and left to go home at 7:45 and got home at 8:30.

When I got home the dogs were so happy to see me and I watched a bit of TV and had some Candy Cane Lane tea and some of the pumpkin bread I made w/RediWhip on top. I felt it was way too late to actually eat but needed something .

Keep in mind while I was trying to lose I would NEVER break my rule of not eating past 7pm no matter what. That took a ton of willpower, but now I feel that I can break that rule from time to time.

I woke up this morning and my weight was at 148lbs. Usually when I eat popcorn my weight goes up just a bit the next day, but today I am good.
My night ended like this.
My breakfast this morning:

Turkey bacon, black berries and raspberries, avocado, and a omelet w/artichoke hearts cut up and guda cheese. Got that idea from the FT book page137.

Tonight Hubby and I and his mom are supposed to go see his brother play somewhere in Seal Beach. He plays the Base and had a little band - plays jazz. It starts at 6:30pm
Michael Haggins. His music was actually playing on the last episode of Community. Ha.

  1. You've had a pretty busy weekend, I'd say! I love that sweater in your pics and need some new one's. That's why I asked where you got it. Great color! The Santa Anita mall brings back so many memories. My Grandma used to take me and my sis there every Christmas to pick out some clothes for our present. My parents grew up in Monrovia and my dad went to PCC. Have fun in SB tonight!

  3. Sounds like a wonderful day! I like how you said what you did to get to goal compared with now. I think I need an evening eating "cut off" time. Oh, I've forgotten to update my weight with you. The last time I weighed in it was 157. You can update my goal at 149. At this point I don't really know what my goal weight's gonna be. I think I'm gonna go with whatever weight I'm at when my body fat percentage is about 25%....right now its 36%.

    Is your turkey bacon microwave bacon or do you have to fry it every morning?

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
