Too big for my Boots...

Hello everyone,

I am still not feeling that great, I've been coughing my brains out all week so just a quick post. Yesterday hubby said lets go to the Ontario Mills Mall and walk around. I told him you think being around a thousand people is gonna make me feel better? OK only if I get to buy something.

So I decided I want to buy some boots. Why not? Everyone else wears them. I grew up in Michigan and wore boots every year cause we had to walk miles in the snow and all up hill LOL. No really we walked everywhere in the snow. So when I moved here, I refused to wear them.

It funny cause I remember being 125 in high school and always thought I had big calf's. Sorry did I spell that right? So I went into many stores and tried on boots. I could not zip up the ones that came to the knee or higher. My legs are too big. HUH? So I went home with nothing.

We did stop at in and out and I got a double, double w/cheese, pickles and a little grilled onions wrapped in lettuce w/water and a few of hubby's fries.

This morning I tried to make some coconut flour pancakes with chocolate powder and truvia in them. Not a good idea. I'm not sure why they just kept falling apart - I got pissed and tried to put some in a coffee mug in the microwave that I think its Kay said? They came out like little cakes so I'll eat them later.

I am coughing too much to type any more so have a great day all.

Thanks for listening, PurpleRosy OUT!

My thought for the day:

What Lies Within Us

What Lies Within Us Positive QuoteWhat lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Sorry you are still feeling bad. Take it easy and get some rest. Sorry too about the boots. Everybody has different size calves and it doesn't matter what you weigh. I have heard this talked about before on tv and such, and I know there are some boots made that have some stretch in that area. I think it is a more common problem then you would think. Keep looking. You 'll find some boots!! Hugs from me to you!

  3. Rosie I have the big calf problem too. Look for boots with some stretch, they will look great either your new skinny jeans! They are the look for Fall!

Try more liquid and or eggs with the coconut flour pancakes. Or if you think you have enough, let batter sit for a bit and make sure it is sifted. Coconut flour is different and very absorbent. Hope that helps!

  4. Sorry you had problems finding boots. I have big calf's too, but never wore boots because it would probably look like I had no legs, being short and all. I hope you feel better soon! :)

  5. You have strong, shapely calves from all that dog walking you do! Who would want skinny little calves anyway? Sorry to hear you have such a bad cough, could it be bronchitis? Maybe some hot lemon tea and a humidifier would help? I hope you feel better soon!

  7. Rosie, boots are over rated. Calves help hold you up so they are valuable whether they fit in boots or not. Be kind to yourself. Your journey is encouraging to lots of us.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
