Well Anyway.............

Hello to all my fellow BFC 'rs,

Yesterday I was supposed to go to this SawDust Festival in Laguna Beach with my sister, Lisa and Maria (my step-mom). They canceled on me cause Maria way way too tired from the day before. I invited them over to go swimming and hang out over here, but Lisa said no cause she lives in a Apt with her 2 little dogs and doesn't want to leave them there all day.

Remember me telling you that one of here dogs peed all over the place the last time they came over - hence the need for a new Shampooer. My hubby said they cannot come over any more, which I agree with. She doesn't understand that it was HER choice to get 2 dogs and leave them in an apt and not anyone elses. It is not acceptable to bring you dogs over to other people's house when visiting, even just for the day. I put mine in a kennel when I go out of town. Well anyway....

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast; 2 eggs w/ sauted onion, mushroom, sausage bites, cheese, and 2 cinnamon coconut bread w/butter and natures hollow sugar free preserves, and some berries.  S-5/C-1

lunch; buffalo wings, spinach salad w/bacon bits, feta cheese, Amies sugar free dressing, and a Papusa from El salvador. A Papusa is like a thick corn tortilla w/something stuffed inside.  S-1/C-1

snack; 2 celery stalks w/cream cheese  0/0
dinner; a salad from chipotle, w/lettuce, little black beans, pork, hot salsa, cheese, sour cream, guacamole.  S-3/C-1

I am excited to see my new couch. It is supposed to come on Wednesday  tomorrow. Hubby and I have been looking for the perfect coffee table to go with it. My other couch that we sold had a storage ottoman with it. I found some really awesome ones on Pottery Barn online. So last night we went over to the one in Victoria Gardens in Ontario, CA to see what they look like. I am so glad I did cause the online pic did it no justice. I wound up ordering one that is made from an old reclaimed wooden door. I will post a pic when I get it. Of course it was out of stock.

I really appreciate all the lovely comments and support that we all have for each other. Please keep it up so the ones that need it can get help.

I just finished a chocolate coconut bread. It's cooling right now. I put 12 pks of Truvia, 2 tbsp of unsweetened chocolate powder and some walnuts crushed up. I can't wait to try it - maybe for lunch.

@Beth, those number sound correct for the bread.
@Karisafi, the bread does not taste like coconut. to me it has the consistency of a scone, kind of.
@ Anonymous, I will work on the page with meals for you.
@ Kay, yup I will be right there :-)

Well that's all for now. Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all.  And please don't forget to visit and join my friends blogs on the list below.

This is PurpleRosy signing off....

My thought for the day:

Brand New Ending

Brand New Ending Positive QuoteThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

  1. Thanks for working on the menu page... I think it will really help people to get healthy ideas. I may have to try the coconut bread soon... my smaller town in Michigan makes it hard to find some things since we don't have a Henry's or Whole Foods very close. Thanks again... I love reading your blog!

  2. I really wanted to have the bread taste like coconut, so I added: 1 t. coconut extract, 1 t. vanilla & 1/2 t. salt. I'm not loving the texture, yet, but it was ok to make french toast out of. I'll keep tweeking-and will try the cinnamon next time. It is 1/2 price to buy in bulk @ my local health food store. Thanks for being here, I do check in with you each day. Take care

  3. My parents always bring their dogs when they come over. It used to bug me, but now it doesn't bother me so much. They keep the little one kenneled up but we let the big one in, because he just lays there. If they had accidents it would change, I'm sure!

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new furniture!

  4. I'm with you on the dogs. We have 2 german shepherds, but I would never push them on others. They go to the kennel if need be... We all love our dogs, but we must have human lives too! I indulged myself with a Costco icecream bar dipped in chocolate. I told myself, just this one time this summer (summer finally came to Oregon). I found some chicken andoullie sausage at Costco, and love their rotisserie chicken. This blog is so much more supportive than WW meetings!!

  5. I am so happy to have found your blog!! My husband and I just started the BFC diet. This will be a new beginning for both of us. He works nights so his eating is really out of control. I have gleaned so much info from your blog and I showed it to him and he was intrigued. So thanks :) I just realized that we live close as well :) I know all about dogs and relatives, my daughter has two little dogs and they have to stay home. We spent alot on new carpet. If she wants to let her dogs in her home that is ok. But I had to make boundaries. It wasnt going to work for us. :) She of course, is still allowed.. LOL. Hugs to you. Keep up the good work, you look fabulous!

  6. Linda, when I have my first big splurge, it's going to be Chocolate Almond dipped ice cream bar at Costco. When we first started getting them, I shared with my hubby, then I started having my own, now I don't get any:( I would rather have less tummy than the ice cream bar! (so far:)
Rosie, my son, wife and 2 grandkids actually left my house at Christmas one year because I wouldn't let them bring in their new puppy. I don't have dogs, love them, but don't want one! No one brings dogs here anymore:) He was one of the revolving puppies that they get.

  7. I do have 2 dogs and love them very much, and they are always in the house with me when I am home, but when someone else (even my own sister) brings their dogs and the pee all over the place. I have to draw the line and say THEY ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT come in here any more!! Sorry :-(

  8. I'm with you Rosalie. I have a dog that marks all the time. I just took him to the vet because it was getting worse and turns out he has urinary crystals, and an infection. He has been on two rounds of antibiotics, and special food. I have a few of those wrap type things that I velcro on him. We call it his diaper. He doesn't seem to mind them, an I can't take a chance of him peeing all over. I am at my wits end, but I have had kidney stones and they did make me feel like I had to pee all the time, so I'm thinking that might be his problem. It's only little amounts, but still. I'm hoping all will clear up with the medicine, and special food. It's so frustrating. Other that that he is a good little dog. We got him at the shelter when he was a puppy and he is 2 now. I have my carpet cleaner on standby!!!

  9. When my folks come over they bring their two year old golden retriever Sadie because we invite her too. I love that dog so much, but I can't imagine other people bringing over their dogs uninvited. Anyway I hope you like your new carpet cleaner. We have a kirby that has a carpet cleaning attatchment...it was spendy but well worth it when it took out a fabric softner stain in our apt in CA and it has gotten lots of use since. Have a great day :)

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
