Found a new Salad Dressing....

Hello all,

Well yesterday I fired the gardener because he has missed 2 weeks in a 2 month period. Hubby said we can do it ourselves. So yesterday I started to pull the weeds and stuff. We have a lot of flower beds around the pool and the back yard. I waited for him to go to work at 3:34pm and went outside and started. Before I knew it - it was 6:30 and I only did about 1/4-1/3 of the back. Today I did 1.5 more hours - still just a dent.

But I have to say it was kind of nice. When I used to do the yard work I used to get a horrible backache something fierce. This time it was just a tiny bit. I think all the less weight on me has really made a difference.

Today Hubby and I were running errands and we were getting into the car and he kissed me on my cheek and said you look nice. I looked down at myself, I was wearing flip flops, a blue tank top, and jean shorts and NO MAKEUP! He said I mean you lost a lot of weight and you look nice. That was so sweet - Thanks Honey. (he reads this)

So we went to Henry's Market which is now slowly turning into Sprouts. I got this salad dressing that I wanted to share with you all. It is all natural, no preservatives, and the three I picked has NO SUGAR and only 1-2 gms of carbs. OH yeah and Vegan.

I was very excited about this because I eat spinach salad all the time and am always looking for a good dressing with little sugar. I Tried the Woodstock tonight. It reminded me of the kind that they serve you on the salad at a Bennihana type of place. You know like a sesame dressing.  Yumm.
What I ate;
Monday; breakfast; 2 eggs, w/ mushrooms, cheese, 3 turkey bacon, mixed berries, coffee, blah, blah, blah  S-4/C-0
Tuesday; breakfast; smart and delicious wheat tortilla w/cheese, 2 eggs, 2 turkey bacon, black, blue, and raspberries a few of each, coffee, blah, blah, blah  S-4/C-1

Monday; lunch; tuna w/mayo, a spoon of salsa, on 2 oasis bread and melted cheese on top, and a handful of almonds. S-3/C-1
Tuesday; lunch; Meatball pizza made w/ sara lee wheat pita, seeds of change pasta sauce, cheese, meatballs sliced, more sauce, more cheese...YUMMO S-1/C1

Monday; dinner; turkey, brocolli, pesto sauce and desert of: chia seed pudding w/ 2 squares of lindt 85% broken up in little pieces inside and rediwhip on top.  S-1/C-1
Tuesday; dinner; buffalo wings, spinach salad, and desert of: chia seed pudding w/ 2 squares of lindt 85% broken up in little pieces inside and rediwhip on top.  S-1/C-1

I have still been walking over 3 miles every night and I feel great! I walk around once with my 2 doggies and then put them at home and walk at least 3 more times by myself. The weather is great right now, so everybody try to get out there and take a walk every day. Just start out small and then before you know it a MILE, then what ever you feel comfortable. I like to power walk after I put the dogs back. But go at what ever pace you can do.

Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all.

This is PurpleRosy signing off....

My thought for the day:

Can Do

One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t do.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. I love Annie's... and totally forgot about her dressings ( I use to use them way back when..and stopped). Thanks for the reminder.

  2. Thanks for the news on the salad dressings. I love when I get a recommendation. There's nothing worse than buying something expensive and then not liking it. I will give those a try. I like to make my own vinagerette, but it would be easier, and I would eat a lot more salad if I had a go to dressing already in my fridge. Love you meals too. You gave me a good idea with the tuna and cheese melted on top. I'll have to make that pudding. I love pudding, so that sounds really good.

Funny you said how the gardening wasn't so bad. Yesterday I had my son trim some roses for me. They are the shrub roses, and they bloom all summer, but they do need to be deadheaded to maximize the blooms. He said to me yesterday, you know Mom, it was kinda relaxing out there trimming those roses yesterday. I have always liked gardening. Maybe I should fire the gardener and work in the yard. Actually our guy just cuts our lawn, and does spring and fall cleanup. We have to take care of the weekd ourselves!

That was a nice complimemt by hubby. It's nice to be noticed....even without makeup!!! Hugs to you Rosalie. Keep inspiring us!

  3. Hey! Haven't heard much from me lately, huh. I'm ready to jump back into the bfc. My life has been CRAZY! I'm trying to update my blog today. I'm sure it felt awesome getting that compliment from hubby. I think I'll try making that chia pudding. Have you tried any of Jorge's italian recipes...just wondering? Thanks for inspiring me. Keep it up :) .

  5. Thanks for the dressing recommendations and the tuna melt idea! I'm trying to figure out some new meal ideas so keep them up! Have you tried the Annie's Shiiritake Sesame dressing that Jorge recommends in the book? It's me and my 14 yr old daughter's new fav. We also like the cilantro dressing from Trader Joes in the refrigerated section (by the lettuce). This dressing has a very strong cilantro and garlic taste (which we love in my family)so if you hate cilantro, don't try it (S/C=1/0) :) This BFC thing is really working! I don't have a lot of weight to lose but I've had a hard time flattening (and de-celluliting) my formerly "ripped" abs since having kids. BFC hasn't gotten them ripped, but they are almost flat again. I'm near ready for a bikini after 9 years!!!!!! :)
Thanks for all of your motivation! Please keep it up because I need it!!!!

  6. OOh, I will have to try out the Annie's dressings! We are always on the lookout for new low sugar dressings!

So nice to get unsolicited comments about how pretty you look! That happened to me the other day with hubby too. Unexpected, but nice!

Enjoy your gardening - I always do, too.

  8. I'm excited for you and your husbands comments:) The thing I respect about you is that you never talk about how people treat you different now because you are thin, you talk about how you treat yourself differently. You are a great example to all of us!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
