Year 2, Monday starting wk 16 on the Belly Fat Cure

Good Morning BFC Listeners,

I have noticed that since I started the Belly Fat Cure over 1 year and 3 months ago, it seems to be hard for some people to stick with this, I am not sure why?? This is the easiest most successful thing I have ever done in my life!!

As I have said before, I have never dieted before. I just accepted myself the way I was, and I knew that would never change at my age. I am kind of lazy - I don't really exercise, just walk every day - that's it!! I never was a gym person. I keep telling myself that I should move on to the next step and start - but like I said, I am a bit lazy with that stuff.

I figured out from the beginning - NOT TO CHEAT. That is very important to train yourself in the beginning to be very strict with your food.

Make sure to track all your food. No more than 15 grams of sugar a day, and 6 servings of carbs a day. you can do less - just not more. Make sure to count the s/c in everything that goes in your mouth. Sauces, even medicines or whatever.

Make sure to split up the s/c in your 3 meals. No more than 5 grams of sugar and 2 servings of carbs per meal, even if you are under for your day - DON"T eat for example: 7 sugars and 3 carbs in 1 meal!! Never do that!

If you have enough willpower, stop eating your carbs after 3pm, and no eating after 7pm. That's what I did right from the first 2 weeks. It has helped me a lot and taught me how to control my hunger. It was not easy in the beginning I held my stomach each night complaining that I was hungry. It took about 2 months to get used to it for me.

Now here's the trick to make you feel human again:
Once in a while when I am out or at a event or get together, I will allow myself 2-3 bites of something I really want. But you must stop after that and not eat the whole thing or you will just reverse everything you have worked for.

Some things you can never do - like don't have any drinks that you are not supposed to. No fruity drinks pr soda. I know Jorge says you can have 2 glasses of red wine every night, But I feel it defeats the purpose of losing. Alcohol has tons of calories in it, so I just have a glass of wine once in a while. Not like I used to. Maybe a shot of tequila at a BBQ or something. But that's it.

These are some of the ways that I have succeeded on the Belly Fat Cure.

I started at size 20 and 238lbs. I am now a size 8 and 154.4lbs.

I was 51 years old when I started and am now 52. I feel great and much younger too.

  1. Thank you for your continued blogging. I feel off the wagon these past two weeks and I miss blogging so much. I miss how healthy and good I felt doing to BFC. I am starting to get back on track, but my life kinda got turned up side down recently and I am working out my routine again. Thanks for being on this journey with me. This has been the easiest program to follow and the most successful. I think you have to find the right diet for your lifestyle and personality and thank goodness, it took 52 years to find BFC.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
