Have a Great Sunday :-)

Good Morning All,

I really appreciate all the comments about my foot dilemma. Helen, I emailed the doctor and asked him the questions that you posed. He really didn't answer them to good, but offered to arrange a second opinion for me. I emailed him back and said that I did not intend o offend him but if he could arrange that - it would be great.

You have to understand that my foot does not hurt at all unless I wear really high heels. Wedges don't hurt, and a lot of heels that I showed you in prior pictures don't hurt. Some of those have a higher wedge on the front toe part of the shoe giving it the illusion of being much higher than it really is. So this is why I'm not sure if it is worth all the pain of fixing. But I will wait until I get a second opinion.

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast; 2 french toast made w/Oasis low carb sprouted flaxseed bread, unsweetened almond breeze, egg and cinnamon, butter on top and joseph's sugar free syrup, 2 & 1/2 turkey bacon, (guess where the other half went?) and 8 blackberries, of course coffee w/powdered cream, truvia, cinnamon, and clear benefiber,  and all my vitamins and 2 Reslina (they are listed on my products page)

lunch: I made a pizza w/smart and delicious wheat tortilla, then in this order, some pesto sauce, baby spinach leaves, shredded cheese, canned chicken, artichokes, pepperchinni  peppers, feta cheese, and parmesan cheese. baken in toaster oven and YUM! I did have some veggie straws dipped in a bit of sour cream after.

dinner; buffalo wigs w/green beans, and 2 squares of Lindt 85% dark chocolate and RediWhip after.

I am going to visit my son, Matthew in rehab this morning. They want you to sit thru this class first (only he first time), at 10:45am, I think its about what the facility is all about. Then visiting hours are from 12-4 on Sundays only.

I just ate breakfast of 2 eggs, cottage cheese, a left over piece of chicken, and 8 blackberries, coffee, blah, blah, blah.

I know I'm gonna be hungry by the time I finish the class. And I'm sure there might be other people that I don't want to see like, my ex his father. I'm OK with it. Doesn't bother me any more. Well I'm gonna bring a protein bar in my purse and I might have to go eat lunch and then come back in between.

Well I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:

Detach and Live

Detach and Live Positive QuoteDetachment involves present-moment living – living in the here and now. We allow life to happen instead of forcing and trying to control it. We relinquish regrets over the past and fears about the future. We make the most of each day.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  2. Just my opinion, but I dont think it is worth it just to wear high heels. I had some surgery yrs ago and ended up in the ICU afterwards. After that I decided I would never have elective surgery again. It was heart surgery, and I would still have had it, but it was scary. Thats just me though!

  3. If it is just certain shoes that are causing your pain I think I would just stop wearing those shoes. As nice as they look, and they do look nice, lol, I don't think for me the pain would be worth it. And, there are always risks in any surgery, so as Amber says, elective surgery really needs to be thought through carefully. Let us know what happens with the second opinion if you are comfortable doing so and above all, take good care of YOU whatever you decide.

  4. I've been thinking about you all day, I hope things went well during your time at the rehab center. I bet your son appreciates your support while he is trying to get his stuff together. Addiction affects everyone in the addicts life and it must be especially tough since he is your son.

Concerning your foot I would wait since it only really bothers you when you wear the super high heels. But I'm sure you will make the right decision. :)

  5. Be Leary. You need to find your own second opinion, your Doctor should not set it up for you. My physician husband said...if it is not causing you daily pain, you should not have the surgery. If it only hurts when you wear high heels... Don't wear them.

  6. Hi Rosalie...I know, it's been a long time. I'm still plugging away but have been up and down, nothing major though. My daughter has bunions and the doctor recommended surgery for her, that was when she was in high school playing volleyball, they didn't hurt her any other time, so we decided against surgery and she stopped playing volleyball. I wouldn't if i were you. Your love and support to your son will pay off, he will appreciate this through his journey of sobriety. i'm so glad he's in treatment, that in itself is a gift. I've been there with family members and myself, the support from family has kept me sober from alcohol for 5 years!!!! I know what he's going through and he needs to know he's worth it!!!!! You're a great mother and example...

  7. I am sorry that you have to go through the pain of addiction of someone that you love. It is a hard road because it effects so many people. You are a good Mom for hanging in there with him.
Do you always buy fresh blackberries? Or do you eat frozen ones? Just curious:)

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
