Don't Listen To Them.....

Hello BFC Listeners,

I hope everyone is having a nice, long weekend. Hubby is working yesterday and today so I cleaned yesterday and am just gonna do laundry and go for a walk like usual with my 2 doggies.

What I ate:
Saturday; breakfast; 2 eggs, 2 oasis bread w/butter and natures hollow sugar free preserves, 2 turkey bacon and balckberries.
lunch; spinach salad w/feta cheese, bacon bits, and balsalmic dressing, a pizza w/seeds of change sugar fee pasta sauce, cheese, and turkey pepperoni.
dinner; I was at hubbys mom's house for a family BBQ, I had salad w/ranch, a hotdog, hamburger, and a pc of chicken. No buns of course and a glass of Cabernet Savignon. and 2 strawberries and a few blueberries w/whipped cream.

Sunday; breakfast; 2 oasis bread w/butter, then I smushed avocado on top, hen 1 egg on each, and topped it off w/pepperjack cheese. and blackberries.
lunch; spinach salad, tuna, mayo, feta cheese, bacon bits, 1/2 avocado, and a few croutons.
dinner; no dinner - we went to the movies and saw Pirates of the Caribbean and I had popcorn instead of dinner. and I had 2 squares of 86% dark chocolate in my purse I ate.

I just want to say that no matter where you are, like the BBQ from Saturday, you can eat BFC and not feel pressured to eat bad. It is all up to you. If I had a nickel for every time I heard - oh just this one time won't kill you. or Just this time is OK it's a holiday or someones birthday, or a special occasion. Well than I might have like 10 or 20 bucks. LOL!!

Don't listen to them. They just want you to fail. They are jealous at your will power and self control.

Instead - share the BFC with them and let them know that if you can do it then so can they.

    We are enjoying the Oasis bread, Thanks for all the good advice and hints. I lost control and gained back 30 of the 39 pounds I lost,,, After your encouragement I started my son and me back on BFC on Saturday. It is a relief being back in control, As I told you I'm 74 and my disabled son Brian is 57. We both have diabetes and need to get the weight off. So, I need your help. What you eat everyday has helped me to see where I can improve. I never made a weeks menu before. I know Big Mistake,,, I like how you always say let no one talk you into eating what you know you shouldn't. Part of my problem has been depression, being a care giver all these years has been tough at times. It is hard to get away for a respite. I do get some help every day from the state in the form of John. He comes every morning to get Brian up, bathed, and dressed. Then he brings him downstairs on the chair lift and puts him in his wheel chair.After his breakfast Brian rides on a special bus to attend a day center.He leaves at 8:15 and gets home3:PM. This is my time to shop and do other errands. On the 6th. of this month the staff put Brian out side to wait for the bus. His break wasn't on and he fell off the curb sideways. He didn't fall out of the chair as he has a seat belt on the chair, They called me and said they were sending him to the ER in a ambo. I was to meet him there. No cuts or broken bones but he hurt his shoulder and foot, After X rays and several hours we went home. He was home 2 weeks since he was hurting, He kept saying he fell, I'm sorry to ramble on just wanted you to know me and my life a little in order to steer me in the right direction since I got off in the wrong direction

    Thank you for your inspiring posts! Starting back today on the BFC. Wanted to you know..when you started did you exercise at all? I'm doing hot yoga, pilates and light cardio and weights during the week.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
