Year 2, Thursday wk 6 on the Belly Fat Cure

Good Morning,

I've been thinking about the post that Sherrri made the other day about all the negative thoughts that we have towards ourselves. I think our state of mind  is really important while we are trying to loose weight.

I have found that when I am in a bad mood or having a bad day, or even if hubby and I have a fight, (that's gonna happen after 20 years together) for some reason that day my weight goes up a little. That is weird huh?

I have also found that I like to eat at home better than out. Although I love to go out, I have found that it messes up my food routine. I don't seem to get enough fiber I think and therefore I can't go #2 regular. Maybe TMI, but I just thought I would share some thoughts rattling around in my cob-webbed head of mine.

I have come to the conclusion that maybe I won't get any smaller than I am. That is fine if not, but I think my body has plateaued. A friend way saying to see what I could change to reset myself. I think I eat pretty good and to be honest - I just don't think I could cut out all the grain carbs, I only eat about 2-3 a day. That's not that much.

The only other option for me is to start the fast track. But then what after that??? So I cut out all my grains and then I plateau again then what??

I have realized that I will be on the Belly Fat Cure for the rest of my life. That is kind of a scary thought, to be on a diet for life. Yeah I know this is a way of life, but to me if you have to follow something out of a book and keep track of stuff day in and day out - it is a diet.

Now - don't get me wrong, I love that I found this and that I actually managed to do it successfully for over a year. But every time you go anywhere and have to always explain that I can't eat this or I can't eat that - then it feels like a diet to me.  This is just me saying how I feel, since I have no one to talk to - sorry.

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast; hubby and I went out to eat and I had coffee and 1/2 of an omelet w/ spinach, shrimp and salsa verde, and 1 slice of rye toast w/butter and 2 bites of hubbys muffin.

lunch; some left over stir-fry veggies from the night before, 2 wasa fiber crackers, cheese, 8 blackberries.

snack; super seed w/water.

dinner; broccoli, 7 brussel sprouts and some buffalo wings. after 2 squares of 85% lindt dark chocolate and some rediwhip.

Thanks for listening. I want to thank everyone that reads my blog all the time and leaving comments. You really don't know how much it helps to get so much support. It feels like we are surrounded by a big giant hug!!

Don't forget to check out all my BFC friends blogs on the list below.

My thought for the day:

Joy Habit

The secret of attraction is to live in joy. You can choose to experience joy when ever you want to by focusing on something that makes you happy and thinking about it as often as you need to. Once you’ve developed that joy habit you will attract more and more joy into your life.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Rosalie,
I look at other people who successfully kept weight off like my mom; her eating habits are much different than mine have ever been. She never thinks about keeping track of stuff, she just eats in a healthy way. I honestly believe that when we get our self defeating mindset out of the way; our body does know how to properly take care of itself and maintain a consistently healthy weight. We need to take care of our minds so we are not drawn to food for reasons other than nourishment (along with some enjoyment of course);and stop the emotional reasons we eat. I am just learning all this myself on my journey.
From what I have heard and seen, I think you have done wonderfully and probably wearing a size 8; you do not need to lose any more weight rather just focus on toning and sculpting your body to be what you want. I bought all of Jorge's 8 minutes in the morning books which sure seems to be an easy way to sculpt our body. (I got them really inexpensively from www.bookdepository.com (and they ship free!). I would not recommend you do the fast track. At what point do we give ourselves a break and say look how good I have done over the past year; and be satisfied?
Sorry for running on, just something to think about Rosalie. Have a great day!

  2. It is all a process, and some days/weeks are much harder than others. I am really struggling with maintenance myself. For me, it is harder than losing and I cant really explain it. Most the problem is just in my head! Its a forever thing and that is daunting. Have you read Why We Get Fat? Im reading it now, and alot of the BFC is based on this research. I find reading books that back this plan up helps to re-motivate me and remind me why I started this in the first place.

  3. I bet the maintenance and staying on the BFC for life is hard. But I think every once in a while to have a piece of something we aren't suppose to isn't going to hurt. We can learn to make up for it in exercise or eating less another day. I am not sure how I am going to feel when I get to this point you are at. Right now I can't imagine being like this for life. But I guess just knowing how healthy we are and will become makes it seem better.

Taking out the grain carbs I think would be hard, remember I tried it that one day and almost had to chew my arm off, lol!! I try to eat breakfast and lunch as my biggest meals like you suggested and it has really helped me.

You have done such an amazing job Rosalie with your healthy eating lifestyle and all the help you have given to us all. =) I give you a big hug for that!!

  4. Hey Rosalie!
A great post here!! So I have to tell you....I clicked on your weight loss progress and I was blown away by the pictures and your progress over the past year!! Holy Cow!!! I feel like I have only seen you skinny and to see that you truly were overweight when you started gave me a feeling of hope that I too have a 31 inch waist under all of this! The one thing I noticed....your diligence to the program and I think that is where many of us get discouraged and derailed and we start to get lax in our programs. You have always pressed on and look at your results....truly, nothing short of amazing!!!!! And you know what?? If you dont hit 150, no big deal because you look wonderful and I know you feel great too! Perhaps this is where your body is supposed to be?? But my goodness...sooo much you have to be proud of!! Even though we have never met in person, I consider you a dear friend and am blessed to have found you throgh our blogs. Thank you for all that you do and regardless of what number the scale ultimately says, you are a true "She-ro" in my book!!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
