Wednesday of week 40: The Belly Fat Cure

Hi Everybody,  :-)

I am feeling great today. Why not? Right? If we try to overcome the tough things that come into our life by adjusting our attitude to the positive, it's a lot easier. You know they say it takes many more muscles to frown then to smile.

So Smile today and take it easy for a change.

I have been having so much fun the past few days trying on dresses. I have somewhere to go on Saturday, a party. So I thought I would buy me a new dress. Maybe something black and tight to show off my new (skinny to me) butt. I was in Macy's. I know they are expensive, but I thought - come on, I am a size 12 now!! Maybe I'll splurge.

I saw this very slinky, skinny looking, leopard dress. I thought - no way. It was a stretchy dress so it looked real skinny on the hanger. The girl talked me into trying it on. I should have took a picture of myself. I put it on and got so excited, kind did a jumping up and down dance. I looked sexy for the first time in I don't know when.
This is the link to the picture of it:

Well I didn't buy it because it was not appropriate for the event on Saturday. I wound up going to TJ Maxx  and got a tight black one instead. But I really got something out of that experience.

I know my weight is at 169.5 lbs right now, but to me I feel so skinny. I started this BFC diet at 238 lbs 9 months ago. I thought I was doomed to be that size forever! Because of my age I felt there was no chance of ever getting smaller. I am not an exercise-y person. I don't like to run either (I tried....Nope)! But I love to walk fast, every day in fact!

My point is - If a 51 year old very heavy woman can do this...... You all can too. We are the same. It takes commitment though. You have to be very dedicated. I never cheat! But there is that once in a while that I just take 1 or 2 bites out of something that I shouldn't. But I have to warn you - if you cannot stop at that 1 or 2 bites, then don't do it. I CAN stop myself!! I am not sure how, but I just have a lot of will power.

I used to eat like a pig. I ate whatever I wanted - whenever I wanted. But now most people say that I eat like a bird (in comparison - I guess).

YOU CAN DO THIS!! Just make that commitment.

The other day someone asked about the stir fry veggies I make, so here goes.
I usually use: mushrooms, yellow onion, zucchini, celery, baby bok choy, asparagus ( If I have it).
fry in e.v. olive oil., Sometimes I put in some tofu. I prepare it first. Cut into small cubes, put in a bowl with some curry powder mixed w/ some braggs for a marinade. Let it sit while I am cooking the veggies. about 3/4 way thru I add in the tofu and sauce and shiritaki noodles (rinse shiritaki noodles very well) so they can get the flavors all mixed together. Tofu and shiritaki need no cooking. Then yum - yum! I eat a big bowl!

Well thanks for listening. Lots of Love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:
Happiness is a conscious choice, not an automatic response.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Saw the dress link pic, very sexy! I can't wait til I can put something on that is made out of that clingy fabric. Right now, I can't because it clings to all the wrong places. You have made me very motivated with all your posts. Great idea with the veggies. I am going to try that next time for my dinner. mmm!!

  4. Great post Rosalie... your new picture next to your first pic speaks volumes! Like Minichick said, you look more like a size 10, and heading towards a 7/8. I still think you could lead overweight ladies, and teen girls in this BFC lifestyle. You are so equipped to be a supportive coach. I'm not sure if groups of BFC clubs have started, but it would be rewarding to try! Nice leopard dress too, next time splurge and "dance" around the house in it!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
