Monday Starting week 39: The Belly Fat Cure.

Good Day to everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend. I went to the movies on Saturday. We saw 2 movies, My soul to take (scary) and Red (the one w/Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman, very good). Of course I had popcorn. I always do at the movies. Thats the one vice that I just can't give up, and its allowed.

Its gonna be raining the next few days so probably no walks for me. I feel bad when I don't get to walk everyday.

I had all these thoughts to talk about - but now...I am blank.   Duh....Lets See.....

I am a perfect example of how the Belly Fat Cure does actually work. I started over 8 & 1/2 months ago and now I am down 67.5 lbs. I can't say this enough....The reason why this has worked for me is
THAT I NEVER GAVE UP!!

I just kept going on the fan pages on FaceBook and read lots of blogs and got ideas from other people. If I felt it wasn't working, I just tried to eat a little different.

I always eat some kind of carbs every day. For me, I feel I need to so I won't be tempted to cheat.
I used to feel like I was depriving myself of everything that everyone was eating.
I used to feel like - Wow, I ca't do this forever!

But now I know this is the way I have to be to be healthy and to lose weight and to keep it off. It's just the way I am to live.

I have seen many drop off and fade away. You just have to pretend like you have those blinder things on that horses wear so they only see straight ahead. So we can see into the future of our skinny selfs. If we veer off to the side we will see our fat selfs and get disappointed.

Stay focused on the Belly Fat Cure!

Don't let other people pull you back down!

Don't let them pull that crap!! Oh, only this once won't kill you!

YES IT WILL!!
Once will lead to twice,
twice will lead to 4 times,
4 times will lead to 8... and then....You are back where you started 8 & 1/2 months ago at 238 lbs.

Be strong!! Have will power!!

We are TEAM BFC CLUB., and our motto is WE CAN DO THIS!!

  2. On the fast track can you use benefiber? What about onions? You are doing great! Thanks for the help.

  3. I don't see why you can't use clear benefiber if you feel you need it. As far as onions, I use only the yellow ones. The red or sweet onions have too much sugar in them. :-)

  7. Rosalie, It is sad to see people getting so discouraged. I wish that they could see that it is not any better if you cheat and go back to eating all that crap.....it's just not worth it. I am down to 201 this week and so excited to be under those 200's soon!

  8. Hi Rosalie,

I haven't given up. I had family visiting and after they left I got sick. I'm just now feeling like my normal again, and can start exercising again. After eating out continuously with family and then being laid out on the couch for a week, I have gained a few pounds. I hope to have a good weigh in next week.

I did try to have a blog for extra support, but that didn't work out so I stopped blogging. I felt a little discouraged about it, but I'm not one to give up so I'll just keep plugging along without a blog. I'm happy for all of you that are hanging in there.

For those who are struggling, just remember that even though trying to embrace a lifelong change in eating habits has it's struggles, overeating/unhealthy eating has it's struggles and pain as well. You can't escape the challenges that come with food if you aren't lucky enough to have an ultra-high metabolism. You just have to decide which form of struggling you want to deal with. Which struggle will be the most fulfilling for you emotionally, mentally, spiritually, etc. in the long run? Can you honestly say that your pain and struggles are less if you just "give in" and eat "however"? For me, the answer is no. I suffer much more when I'm allowing cravings to control what I eat, gaining weight, feeling gross about myself, having my clothes get tight, being mad at myself, and the list goes on. As difficult and frustrating as it can be at times to stay on top of my eating, those struggles are much less painful mentally/emotionally. Instead, amidst my struggles I am at least still going down in weight and size, even if it's slow going, vs. going up in weight and size, and all the pain that goes with that.

Okay, we know that there will be struggle with either path, so which path, and accompanying struggles, do you want to take on? You have to choose. Even if you don't consciously choose to "give in", that will be your default choice by not consciously choosing a healthy eating lifestyle. We all know how hard this is, but hopefully you can find it in yourself to embrace the struggles you face, be at peace with not being perfect, learn as you go, and continue moving forward no matter how many times you fall.

I’ll leave you with a couple of quotes to ponder…

“If you keep on going the way you're going you'll end up where you're heading - which direction are you aiming for?”

"You don’t drown by falling in the water; you drown by staying there."

"You can talk yourself into anything! Change your words...change your thoughts...change your life."

"Your goals, minus your doubts, equal your reality."

"It's not about being in control, it's about being empowered." Bob Harper

Hang in there, everyone. You CAN do this!!!

    XOXO,
    Minichick

  11. Rosalie, you are so right about the "only once wont kill you" schpeel! Sometimes its really hard to keep a positive attitude towards people when they appear to want to sabotage everything I work so hard for by continually offering me foods I dont eat! Thank goodness for you, Diana, Amber, Robin and others blogs that let me know Im not alone and inspire me to stay positive and focused! Ive said it before and Ill say it again: Thank you! Love your thought for the day, too!

Minichick, great to hear from you again! Sorry to hear you were going through a rough time and happy that your back! Thanks for sharing those great quotes!

  12. Great to see your back Minichick...your words are so inspiring!! I'm trying to understand too why people are giving up. I've tried every diet under the sun and this is the only one that has EVER worked! For example....a salad with vegies/low fat dressing OR a salad with turkey, ham, bacon, boiled eggs, cheese, vegies and full fat dressing!! I can also understand the emotional part of it too, i've been there. I'm just thinking maybe a lot of you who can't seem to get the weight off, are you truely clean of sugar? And not using Splenda? I honestly believe that using that Splenda will throw you off. In July, i was not losing and i gained about 5 lbs. and was in a panic, i checked everything i was eating to make sure there wasn't sugar. I had bought different tortillas and double checked the ingredients and sure enough there was sucralose!! As soon as i stopped eating them i started back on track again. Just the other day i bought what i thought was legal pitas, i read the ingredients, when i got home i read them again and there tucked in with the other ingredients was dextrose, got rid of them!! My point is that hidden sugar is everywhere, it may say in the nutritional facts 0 sugar but you just have to check. I somersized for years and years, which is a low carb type diet, and i used Splenda. I would never lose weight and i even exercised, so i'm thoroughly convinced it was the Splenda that made me fat and made be crave even more sugar because i cheated all the time. I haven't cheated once on this way. I started at 208 and now weigh 168. It has taken me 9 months to lose, but as you can see it's been slow. I'm not trying to be some kind of diet natzi, i just hope maybe this will help some of you. Really, really be honest with your choices and read those ingredients!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
