Good Morning Everyone,

So I guess Hubby watched some Healthy-Nutrition special on Katie Curric the other day and got really freaked out. They were talking about all the germs and Cooties you get in Restaurants and how it makes us really physically SICK and lots of other stuff I can't remember - but all stuff I have been trying to tell him ever since I started eating like this.

He said the longer you eat like this, your taste buds change. DUH - I have been saying that... He always says - no that's not sweet enough to me and I think its fine.
So after watching that show he says he never wants to eat out again. DUH again, I have been saying how I just would rather eat at home because I know what I am putting in my mouth.
I always tell him to not set stuff (like his cell phone and keys and glasses) down on the table at fast food places and to stop touching stuff cause you will get COOTIES.. He always just thought I was NUTS and being weird. Now he is so phobic its kind of funny. He is always asking for the anti-bacterial stuff I keep in my purse. He holds out his hands with a nasty look on his face waiting for it. It's funny - I finally got him a germ-a-fobe like me. LOL

My breakfast yesterday was pancakes made with 2 oz of cream cheese, 1 scoop of strawberry protein powder and 2 eggs.
 For lunch I made some tuna with celery, feta cheese, mayo, bacon bits and 1/2 a small tomato cut up - And I made 2 small homemade corn tortillas.
 I saw this post from one of my healthy sites about some homemade Thin Mint cookies, but of course they use stuff in the recipe that we Don't!! So I tweaked it and made it BFC friendly. These tasted surprisingly GREAT!! If you like the Protein Bites you should like these too. Try them and let me know what you think.

 Me and the Furry girls went for a walk and when I got back this is what I made for myself for dinner.
Blackened salmon I bought from Sam's Club. They come individually wrapped and taste good. I made a foil pouch on a cookie sheet and placed the salmon on a bed of Kale with 8 small asparagus - seasoned with just a little lemon juice and butter and baked at 350 for 45 minutes and perfect.

Well its gonna be a nice day over here today - so go out for a walk if you can.

  1. Too funny...hadn't heard the word cooties in eons!!! I so wish my hubby would finally get it too!!! It is quite tiring trying to get him to understand. I now carry wipes then assssk him to use ine after he is done with the menu. This to me is the hardest thing about trying to lose weight...is living with a stubborn man!!! I get so discouraged and so easily discouraged too. I told him about an hour ago, that I am putting my foot down and when we return from this business trip...I will force feed him the belly fat cure life style. He said ok. Sigh.

  2. I'm not sure if I want to go without eating out anymore? Are you sure you want to skip the fun part of not having to cook? Believe me I do know it is way healthier for us.
    I really don't know how you have all of those goodies around without constantly eating them, that is willpower!!!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
