It will for you too!!

Hello Everyone,

Well the little pip squeak is doing fine. I took all 3 of them for a walk yesterday and we went 2 miles and today 2.7 miles. I have to tell you I look like the crazy dog lady walking 3 dogs at the same time. But She keeps up great.

My breakfast yesterday
lunch yesterday was chicken salad on one of those low carb buns.
dinner yesterday was some broccoli and brussel sprouts and turkey
and a coconut flour muffin for desert.
My breakfast today was eggs w/sausage crumbles, sauted spinach and cheese, 1/2 avocado and some beans that Maria made.

lunch today was some turkey rolled up w/a string cheese in the middle, I had 2 of those I made in my purse. We went to the movies - and I had popcorn.

When I got home I ate a spinach salad w/the left over chicken salad from yesterday in side.
Then I made one of those low carb buns w/cocoa, 1 truvia, maple extract. I tried to make it like a brownie - it was OK, but I like it plain better.

On Minichicks last post she was wondering how I stay so strong;

I guess when you have lost this much weight - there is nothing in the world I will ever do to allow myself to go back to where I was before.

I know in my head and in my heart that this is the way I MUST eat to stay this way - to stay a size 6 instead of a size 20. I know this NOW - and I sure wish I knew this a long time ago.

I have said this many times - But it really is a mind thing, like hypnosis-sort of. You really have to keep telling yourself that you are not allowed that stuff.
EVER!!
While I was trying to lose weight, I kind of felt that I needed to put myself in punishment sort of. I would say to myself that I was bad and couldn't have that.

Once you realize that the stuff you think tastes so good is what is making you FAT and really does NOT make you feel better at all - then it gets a lot easier to pass up.

There is so many of you that have tried so many different things to lose weight. I have to say that if you do this right and don't quit - it WILL work! You have to make (what you think) are sacrifices. But in the end you know that you were making the sacrifices before - not now.

All I know is - It WORKED for me!! It will for you too!!

Thanks for listening to me today. Lot of love to you all.

Chime in folks and let us all know who is on here reading.

This is PurpleRosy signing off...

My thought for the day.

Wait and Listen

Friends are those rare people who ask how you are and then wait to hear the answer.
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

  1. I'm here and you are a wise lady:) I don't ever want to eat sugar again, but I waffle on my carbs. We all have to have at least one weakness!
    Thank you Rosalie:)

  3. You are right, there's are sacrifices that we have to make and there's no getting around that if we want long term success.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out this past week. I really appreciate it, and feel like I've made it to a good place mentally at this point.

  5. I'm reading. I agree with Kay. For some reason it's easy for me not to give into sugar (which is crazy b/c I always loved dessert) but carbs can be a little more difficult for me to be strict with. I know you said that drinking 2 glasses of wine every night is not going to help you lose weight (even though Jorge says it's okay). I would like to believe Jorge is right b/c I love my wine with dinner but I think next week I am going to stay off the wine and see if that makes a difference. I haven't lost weight in a few weeks and I'm starting to get frustrated!!!

  7. I'm here and reading too. I've recently "renewed" my commitment to the blog I started in 2009/10 when I did Jorge's online BFC program with Amber. I've also really become a food shutterbug and I've taken pictures of 3 different "creations" this week-kale chips, freezer jam (strawberry) and Elana's "scrumptious sandwich bread". I think MFP and the blogs help keep me accountable and motivated. Thanks so much for sharing!

  8. thanks rosalie!! just the motivation that i needed to get back on track after my weekend sugar lapse! I really struggle with sugar and was just trying to imagine my life without it ever again. I had such a great week then i tasted just a little ice cream and suddenly there were candy wrappers all around me.. I am so weak. Going to clean house today and get back on track, Thanks again for the motivation. this morning I believe i can do it!!!

  9. Thanks Rosalie - I'm reading (and have read every one of your posts) :) What I love is that you know what must be done in your head and you actually follow through and do it (even in maintenance)!!!! I'm getting closer to that place myself - thanks for the daily inspiration!

  10. You are right, of course. We can't go back to eating the way we did beforehand - that's how we got there to begin with!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
