What the HECK!!

Hello everyone,

I had a little scare last night. Just like Pattie my scale it going plouey. I usually weigh myself at night before I go to bed, and last night it said 152.5. I was like WOW! You know our night time weight is always more than in the morning. I actually got excited thinking that I actually - finally hit my goal of 150lbs. But when I got up it said 154. What the HECK!! Oh well - I guess my scale needs new batteries.

I have been really upping it on my walks lately. I have been going 3.2 miles or so for the past almost 2 weeks every day. Hubby told me that I might not lose those last 3lbs unless I exercise. YUCK! If I wanted to do that I would not have gotten so big to begin with. So I decided to push myself more in the walking dept. which I love anyway.

The thing with my son: Well he's doing fine so far. I have to take him to the doctors today. Hubby is finally speaking to me. I guess he got over it.

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast; 2 eggs, 1/2 avocado, smart and delicious wheat tortilla w/cheese, coffee, blah, blah, blah. My vitamins, 2 pro-biotics, and 2 Reslina.  S-2/C-1

lunch; cauliflower crust pizza (on recipe page) w/ seeeds of change pasta sauce, cheese, turkey pepperoni, and a spinach salad.  S-1/C-0

dinner; turkey medallions, 6 brussel sprouts, broccoli, and 2 spoons of pesto sauce, and 2 squares of lindt 85% dark chocolate.  S-4/C-0

I went to Kohls yesterday to buy a new bathing suit. I tried on a bunch and didn't like any. But I did try on these plaid shorts in size 6 and they just slipped right on. Not even tight or anything. But I didn't get them just because they fit. I really didn't like the way the plaid looked, made me look wide'ish.

Well I gotta go. Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all.

This is PurpleRosy signing off....

  1. Rosalie, I think you may be building a little more muscle with all of your walking. That may explain the scale going up a bit. Don't give up! Glad hubby is talking to you again!

  2. Hi R,
I keep going up 3 pounds up/down (143-141). I am walking 5 miles a day after work for the past 2 weeks..AArrggHHH...oh well, I feel great, my clothes slip on/off and I have regular BM's. I think I may quit weighing just to not think about it so much anymore. 143 is my 5 pound cushion. I have been trying to get back to my old weight of 138 but can't break beyond 141. Maybe, it is just muscle now..hahaha
Being in recovery for 22 years now, I know that no one gets me sober nor gets me drunk! If I had one more enabler in my life back when I was cut loose I think I would still be drinking. I have learned from experience that having some pain from the booze/drugs helps us get sober quicker than if no pain invovled. Like the old saying "no pain no gain" The best think my family did for me was to tell me at 22 years old, "You can't stay here anymore...you don't quit drinking and you bring trouble all the time."
I hope your son finds his way to a better life without the booze/drugs. Hope and Faith for the best!!
    Peace,
    E

  3. Hi R,
After typing the last comment to your blog it dawn on me to try something different for at least 1 or 2 weeks. I am going to do the Fast Track (no grains) and see if these stubborn 5 pounds go away along with the continue walking I have adopted the last 2 weeks. Wish me luck and I will keep you posted. I guess I can start tonight with dinner ;)
    Peace,
    E

  7. Hi - My weight always goes up and down sometimes as much as 5 pounds. I just always go by the lowest weight! I just got back from vacation and did really well until the last 2 days when I ate sugar. I felt horrible! I am so glad to be home and eat well and get back to my normal healthy eating.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
