Year 2, Friday wk 2 on the Belly Fat Cure

Hello Everyone,

I went to the burial of my dad on Wednesday in Bolder City which is 20 minutes away from Las Vegas. I brought my video camera this time so I could tape it for my relatives that live far away and could not come. I posted it privately on youtube and sent them the link. They all liked that I did that for them.

All I can say is, OMG!! It was super cold, about 25 degrees and wind that whipped so hard and it was so cold our hands got numb!!

So my sister, Lisa came home with us and I just let her borrow my car for her interviews at the Children's hospital of Los Angeles on Thursday morning. (She is a nurse) She had 3 interviews set up, 1 at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. She said it all went very well and looks promising. She hates Las Vegas and wants to move over here to California. So hopefully that will happen and then I can find her a boyfriend so she can get married. haha.
I just dropped her off at the airport a little while ago.

So yesterday I ate:
breakfast; 2 eggs,2 turkey bacon, 7 blackberries, 2 slices of Oasis low carb flaxseed sprouted bread, butter, josephs sugar free peanut butter, coffee, blah, blah, blah.
lunch; sandwich w/oasis bread, cheese,  1/2 avocado, turkey, mustard, mayo.
snack; veggie straws w/ a little sour cream to dip and 1 piece of cheese.
dinner: bowl of chicken tortilla soup w/o the tortillas, and 1/2 chicken ceasar salad.

I am really not feeling that great since the burial. The freezing wind really got me in the neck. So I have been wearing a scarf wrapped around my neck yesterday and today.

Well that's it for  now. I hope everyone has a great day! Lots of love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:

It is indeed a miracle when you realize the fullness of who you are. You’re not your body, and for sure you’re not your body image. That’s a free at last kind of recognition. No more wasted time. Oprah Winfrey

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. I don't agree with Oprah's comment at the end of your post. It all works together to make up who we are. The body, the mind and the spirit, we are all of that and more, an indefinable something that lets us dream and create. When one of the elements of Body, Mind, or Spirit are out of whack, we feel it, it can hold us back till we find the balance we need again.

  2. Hey Rosalie! I have missed you my friend but glad to hear that your dad was peacefully laid to rest. Such a hard thing to do for sure. I still have both of my parents and I feel so blessed for that. Its heartbreaking when they leave us and there is a place in our hearts for them that can never be replaced, but there are great memories to reflect on from all the years together. So I am sending you a ((HUG)) and hope that you know that we are all here surrounding you with our thoughts & prayers. I hope you feel better soon too. I know you arent used to those 20 degree temps out there in Cali. It is in the 20s here in PA and we are used to it....winter is Nov-April but we have all 4 seasons to enjoy and I wouldnt have it any other way.
Take care & have a good weekend!!

  3. Welcome home! I hope your sister get's the best job at the Children's hospital, and you can hang out together, and look for an eligible bachelor for her. That sounds fun! How's Maria holding up? Great idea to send the video to the other relatives that couldn't attend. The snow is covering places pretty heavily making travel impossible, with lots of cxl. flights across the U.S. think travel just now wouldn't be a good idea. Enjoy your weekend Rosalie.

  4. Rosalie, glad you made it back home safe and sound and now maybe you will be able to settle down a little bit. I lost both of my parents so I know how you are feeling. But you just have to remind yourself that your father is in a better place and no more suffering. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
