Wednesday of week 41: The Belly Fat Cure

I went to see another scary movies this afternoon, Saw 3D. All I can say is ....Gross! When I came out I could not believe my surprise it was 100 degrees outside. Whew - only in California huh?

I went to Kohls today they were having a big sale. I told hubby I could only buy a few tops cause I don't want to waste money. I plan on loosing those 19 more pounds to get to my goal of 150lbs, and am planing on being a size 10. I am now a size 12. I picked up a few tops that were size large and I saw this faux fur vest thingy. It was so  cute and I picked up a large and went to the mirror to try it on and realized it was way too huge on me!! I looked at this lady near me and said is this too big? She said yes, you need a medium.

Well anyway my point is - I went from a 1x and xL top to a medium. And I almost cried again. I was trying to explain to Hubby what kind of a feeling this was. To go from a 1x to a medium. He didn't get it, but I know that some of you might.

I really want to help you all get this feeling too. I can't really describe it in words. But I was fat just a minute ago! and now I fit into a size 12 and a medium top!!

I have to keep on saying this - one of the main reasons that I have succeeded as far as I have is because I NEVER GAVE UP! Even when I was not losing or even went up a pound - I NEVER GAVE UP! That is when some would throw in the towel and say it doesn't work for me. But I kept plugging along and kept trying to find a way to make it work for me!

You must be dedicated to this. You must give 100%. You can't have cheat days!
But if you do mess up - it's OK. Just get back up - dust yourself back off and try again. Don't feel like you are a failure! We are not all perfect.

But if we support each other - It's much easier. To know that we are not all alone.

If anyone needs any help - send me a message on Facebook and we can chat or talk on the phone.

My thought for the day:

The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. I know what you are talking about!! That is awesome being in a medium!!!! When I started I was up to wearing 2X in some items, mostly 1X and either size 18 or 20, depending on the item! I can now regular XL tops (NOT from the Womens' Dept) and I can wear size 16 in jeans/pants!!!!!

You are totally right about keep plugging along! I can't believe I've been eating this way for almost 3 months! It's defintely become a lifestyle change for me, I have no desire or cravings to return to how I used to eat. Husband picked up pizza for him and the boys tonight.....I actually preferred to have my salad with grilled turkey on it and a 1/2 c of lentil soup. The pizza was not appealing at all.....of course, it was only a $5 Little Ceasar pizza...but still!!!

  2. FANTASTIC ROSALIE!!! Congrats!!! What a great feeling to be in a MEDIUM!!! YAY for you! I have to share this...about 12 yrs ago I lost a substantial amt of weight...went from 218 & a size 18 to 165. Took me a yr but I started Jan 4th & by Dec was @ 165. I was wearing a 10/12. I remember migrating to the XLs but they were frocks on me.I think its so funny that it becomes so ingrained in us to just migrate to the larger size. It takes a while to sink in I suppose esp when you are heavy for a long time. I cant wait to revisit the MEDIUM dept again. My frame isnt that big...just well padded at the moment.
Susan, way to go on passing up the pizza! that is a victory for sure! Have a great day my friends! Wishing you all the very best! Sherri

  3. Rosalie, That is so great! It does seem like a long road but it is so worth it. I cant wait until I can get in a much smaller size. And I agree with Susan this has to be a life style change. And you dont miss all those bad foods. Thanks for joining me at spark too!

  4. Great post as always. I can't imagine how it would feel to "be" a medium, but I can't wait to get there. So many people would give up where you are right now. It's so awesome you're not. I know you'll get there. Thanks for the support on my blog too. I'm sick with a cold today & normally I would crave my normal unhealthy comfort foods, but I don't even want to go there mentally. If I do want something, I'll just make a BFC replacement.

  6. I just visited Helen Kays page and wrote, you're shrinking! She fit into something she did not before, and now I'm reading your page Rosalie, and I can double my YAHOO, you're shrinking too! It's nice to have so many "losers" on one page! I'm actually standing on a rather large plateau that is being a bit stubborn at the moment, and the only thing that I think may be causing this, is my friggin BFC ice cream, and not enough veges this week! NO... NOT MY ICE CREAM!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
