Sunday of Week 41: The Belly Fat Cure

Hello Team BFC Club,

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I went to the movies yesterday with hubby and we saw Due Date with Robert Downey Jr. If you don't like that weird Zach guy's sense of humor, then you might not like it. I thought it was funny.
I had popcorn like usual. I never put butter, I know we are allowed but, its so fattening. Did you realize that 1 tbsp of butter has about 100 calories in it? That's way too many calories for me so I tend to stay away from it, at least on my popcorn anyways.

I really am not sure what to do about how slow the weight is coming off now a days. Well I will just keep plugging along and still hope that I will get to my goal by the end of this year.

I am a bit concerned about the fan page for Jorge on Facebook. When I started the Belly Fat Cure in January, there was so many people on there you really couldn't count them. There was tons of people doing the BFC. But now most of them have dwindled away.

There are not that many comments on Facebook anymore. I am really hoping that it has nothing to do with him coming out or something stupid like that. I think it has to do with all of his stupid pictures and the stupid comments he puts under them.

If he would try to focus on actually answering some of the questions people have on there, instead of - Look at me - I'm having coffee. Maybe he would keep some of his followers.

Well we will just have to do this without him. WE CAN DO THIS. We can support each other and try to stay focused on our ultimate goal of losing weight.
To those of us that are left....Don't give up....Don't quit.....

I am nobody special. I am just like you. I never dieted before I did this, but even if you have tried lots of other stuff, just know that this is much different. It is not the same as any other diet.

The end result is so great - I can't even explain how I feel.

Thanks for listening. Lots of love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My thought for the day:

Right Here, Anywhere is paradise; it’s up to you.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  2. Hi Rosalie

Thanks for all your tips and motivation! Not to defend Jorge but I think there are limitations to replying to posts on a fan page. I also follow Jillian Michaels and this is what she said about it over on FB.

Guys just a quick reminder... Because this is a fan page I can't respond to your questions directly on here. I can only post and comment on my own posts. If you have a specific question for me tweet it to me. Have a great day!

  3. Rosalie, I think the problem is that diets come and go and then people are on to the next quick fix or they think. I did the same thing tried one and if I didnt feel that was working then I tried the next one. As you can see Jorge wrote his next book similar to the BFC but a little different so I think that people start to follow that plan. I love this plan and so glad that I found it. If you have 1 or 2 people willing to take your advice then you are helping them. You have been doing a great job...Keep it up!

  4. I don't use facebook at all so I have no idea about that "world" at all. I think like Diana said though, after any initial surge, people will eventually settle in or move on. I think it's just the nature of the beast. For those of us who have chosen to settle in with this eating plan for the long haul, we can continue to support each other regardless of the book/Jorge's popularity, or lack thereof, in another part of the web-world.

Just in case any of you missed my last comment, I have started a blog for those who would like to follow the BFC plan but need to do so gluten free. I hope you will join me there as there will still be good ideas, inspiration, and support that we can give to each other regardless of the grain aspect. For most things, you can substitute what you want in place of a gluten free item. For example, if I share a good quesadilla recipe that calls for a gluten free tortilla, you would naturally just use whatever tortilla you prefer. Most food items can easily be substituted in that way, so I hope the words gluten free don't make you think that the blog wouldn't be useful to you. Hope to see you there!

  5. Rosalie....You are my inspiration! I was telling my sister about your success on our ride today to Cleveland. I have always said, "If I can help one person, then I am doing what God put me here to do". YOU are helping many and I know personally that these blogs keep me going. Thanks to everyone for the great support!!! You are gonna hit that 150 mark!!! It will happen!!

  6. Rosalie, I have followed "Me and Jorge" through her entire weight loss journey and now yours throughout yours. Even though you never hear from me - I run to the posts every morning. You are a great source of encouragement. I give you applause for setting a goal by the end of the year - but keep in mind - it is just a number that you came up with. So don't get discouraged. The last 15 pounds will always come off slowly. Our bodies sooooooo want to hang on to that security blanket. Even if you don't reach that 150 pound goal until May 2011 - you are already a success and a major influence on all of us. I think that is why so many of us fail. We set goals - and then when we don't achieve them - consider the diet and ourselves a failure. Your new lifestyle is something to be proud of and for us to take note of. I love your pictures.

  7. Rosalie, thank you for once again a great blog post. Your so encouraging :) I too went to see the movie "Due Date" this weekend and me and my husband laughed so hard we cried. We like Zach's weird humor and together with Downey's sarcastic humor it made for a great movie. :)

I went to try to find those Shiritaki noodles this weekend at this HUGE asian farmers market in my area and they had no clue what they were when I asked. (And I asked about 4 people) They kept saying "Teriyaki?" haha!! Well I found a sight called Miracle Noodle so I am going to try to order them there because I heard alot of good things and wanna try them after you raved about them.

Thank you for all you do Rosalie!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
