Monday starting week 43: The Belly Fat Cure

Good morning,

Well I was down 2 lbs this past week, but I guess from the popcorn at the movies yesterday, I am now down 1.5lbs for my weigh-in today. That's great! I'll take any loss that I can get. My weight is coming off slower now the closer I get to my goal. But it's actually still coming off.

I have to admit that its getting just a little disappointing watching all of our little community getting smaller and smaller each week. There used to be so many and now not so much!

I know it does get so hard to keep doing this lifestyle when you don't see the weight continuously coming off. You feel like its not working so why not eat what everyone else does. I am not sure why it effects us so greatly now. Before we used to go up and down 5lbs overnight. Right? We never thought twice about it. But now if don't continually go down 1/2 lb every day - we think our life is ending.

Look - its really not!! I know we are probably lazy. That's how we got so big to begin with - right? I know I just there to be a magic pill or potion. But this is gonna take quite a bit of time for it to work. I know it says on the cover of his book, lose 4-9lbs every week without exercise. But in reality - you know thats not true. So don't take it to heart.

This will take time, so don't give up so easily!
You might have to walk daily, like I do. That's not that hard and we all can do it. It makes me feel great to get outside. If it's cold - I put on a hat and scarf and go anyways.

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast; 2 eggs w/cheese, 2 strips of turkey bacon, cottage cheese, 6 blackberries, coffee - blah, blah, blah
lunch; 3 pieces of turkey lunch meat and 2 pieces of colby-jack cheese.
Then I went to the movies and ate 1/2 bag of popcorn
snack; super seed w/water
dinner; broccoli, brussel sprouts, buffalo chicken wings, 2 squares of Lindt 85% dark chocolate.

Well, that's all for now so thanks for listening. Love to all of my BFC friends. Please leave your comments.

My though for the day:

When you seek happiness for others, you find it for yourself.
Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Congrats on your 1.5 lb. loss. That's great! Not having much more weight to lose myself, I'm always very excited to see anything beyond 1 lb. It can be frustrating how slow it comes off compared with how quickly the pounds come on, but off is what I want so I don't care how long it takes. Actually, I bought a couple of shirts in a smaller size today in anticipation of getting into them once I lose more weight.

Come on, everyone, you can do it! Just think about where you'll be the next holiday season if you stick with it. Tell us what you are struggling with the most. Maybe we'll have a suggestion that will work perfectly for you. No need to feel ashamed if you've blown it...PLEASE don't...it's all about figuring out what works and what doesn't work for each person, and we can at least try to help you figure it out so that you can make this work for you.

  3. HEy Rosalie!!
WOW!! Another 1.5# girl??!! That is AWESOME!!!!! Take a bow...you are getting closer to that 150 mark. I wish I had your will power to not eat carbs @ dinner but dagnabbit...I want them still! I feel fat today & didnt go near the scale cuz I know it isnt gonna say something I want to see. I think you are doing great & I love that you post daily & I wish everyone in the "sisterhood" would do the same. it makes me feel accountable and I know I always check to see what everyone is writing daily. It keeps me going & motivated! Lets plan that conf call soon. What do you think? Its a free call & maybe we can do it on the weekend when most plans have free minutes?? I can get a number that we can have a conf call number.
I worked all day today so thats why Im posting so late.
Its the start of a new week & I want to be down 2# this week again!!!

  5. Rosalie...congrats on your weight loss. I am losing at a slow pace like a turtle but I am gonna stick with it. This plan makes you feel better. I know how you feel when you see a drop in the bfc community but give it a couple more months and you will see a big gain again. The beginning of the year everyone wants to lose. But we have each other in the sisterhood and that is great! I am down 1lb this week to 198!

  8. Me too!! These blogs have helped me so much, especially Amber at meandjorge.com. I've had people give up on this way too because they wanted a quick fix, but in the mean time tell me how great they feel and how much they get to eat...i don't get it either, but then again everyone is different. I've been having real small losses but yesterday...i tryed on a comfortable size 10 !!!! I haven't worn that size in probably 10 years!! So i think i'm still losing inches even though the scale doesn't show. So ladies DON'T GIVE UP!!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
