Friday of week 12: Belly Fat Cure

Well today I am down another 1/2 lb. (even though I am on my monthly). But I really can't count any weight loss for the week until Monday. That is my check in day. Yes I am 51 and still get my period. It's not fair I tell you!! I thought when I turned 50, it would magically stop. I am not sure who told me that, but they were wrong. LOL!

This is my favorite breakfast:  I eat almost every morning. I make a quesadilla.
I use a smart and delicous tortilla, put a little bit of nonfat refried beans on 1 half, then sprinkle some shredded cheese on the entire thing,
either make 1 fried egg - or if I have a hard boiled one - I slice it and put it on the half with the beans, I put some baby leaf spinach leaves on the side with just the cheese. Fold in half and cut in 2 pieces. Eat with 8-10 blackberries and 2 cups of coffee with half and half , truvia and some cinnamon sprinkled in the coffee.

  1. Wow...you are doing great. Keep up the good work. Just to make you feel better (cough cough). I have a friend that is close to 80 and her doctor told her she is going through the change. Although, she has not had a period in a while. She has been sweating and other menopause symptoms all of a sudden. He took blood work and said it showed that she was in menopause. NOT FAIR.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
