I think I went down another pound today. It makes me feel real good when I see my weight go down even just a tiny bit. I don't have a fancy digital scale. I think I've had this old scale maybe for 15-20 years. I can't really remember. Maybe it's time to break down a get a new one.
It realy makes me feel good when my daughter (who lives in Michigan) tells me all the time how proud of me she is of me doing this. It really gives me fuel and makes me feel that I really can keep going.
Yesterday I went over my carbs by 7 grams. But I still feel I ate really really well and ther is many day that I go way under, so I'm calling it a wash.

Some tips if you are having trouble
- First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
- Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
- Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
- Make sure you drink lots of water.
- Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
- Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
- Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
- Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
I hope this helps.

ReplyDeleteA digital scale is definitely worth it. They have come down in price over the years. There are many types, so be selective according to your wants. They range from simple - just the weight - to more info such as bmi, water %, fat %, memory, multiple users, etc. Some weigh by half-pound increments and others are more precise and measure by "tenths" of a pound.
ReplyDeleteNo two scales will give the same readings - even if both are digital. So, if you switch to digital, you will probably find a discrepency between the readings with your old and new scales. Simply, weigh yourself on both and adjust the difference to your original numbers. For example, if your starting weight was 230 and the new scale has a discrepency of +/- 5 lbs, then adjust the 230 and all the subsequent "old-scale" weigh-ins by +/-5 (eg. 235 or 225).
I hope this helps. Good luck!
I enjoyed reading your blog. Would like to know more about the first couple of weeks though. Which menu plans did you do in the early weeks? Or did you just try to come up with something on your own. I followed the menu in the book the first two days and GAINED 2 pounds. I realized I must write down everything and am trying again. Congratulation on your success!
