I don't understand why they just don't get it.!

Hello friends,

Well I am not sure what the heck is wrong with me lately, but sometimes I feel like I want to just scream. I feel it starting down in my tummy. It's not a hungry feeling. I know its my hormones, but I really can't do anything about it yet. My doctor told me that my period has to end for 2 years to say that I am in Menopause. Yeah WHAT??

In the meantime oh yeah she offered those pills for people in depression or who feel like they are going crazy. I said no thanks. This was a while back when it wasn't as bad as it is now. So in the meantime I am 52 (53 in January) and still get my period monthly just like clockwork.

So the other day hubby and I were watching TV and he says something really stupid!! He says, oh now you can go and wear that victoria secret stuff and wear a bra and tiny panties and your boobs would go - like POW! I looked at him at wanted to kill him. I said are you kidding I am way too fat to wear that stuff. He said you are not fat.

I said, just imagine a big giant balloon and now imagine that I took away 88lbs from that balloon, what do you think is gonna happen?? Its gonna be all flabby. I have boobs that go almost down to my waist and my thighs are fat!! I am NEVER gonna look like that any more!! I am 52 and will never look like those children in those commercials!!
I don't understand why they just don't get it.!

I just want to be liked and loved just the way I am. I don't think that's too much to ask. Just like me this way. Don't say oh maybe you should get Lipo or act like a complete imbecile!!
Blah-Blah, GRRR, AHHHH!

Katie: I think I need the recipe for one of those: vodka mocha valium latte's that you talked about. LOL


A-M: No don't eat as much meat as you want. Just eat what looks like a healthy portion to you. And remember that veggies has sugar too.
I use a program on my driod X called calorie counter and a website called nutritiondata.com. both are very helpful in telling you the nutritional data in foods.
And yes you definitely need the book to reference by. start with the original Belly Fat Cure the one with the blue stripe.
Make sure that you are going under the 15/6 rule. That's 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs a day. or 5/2 per meal.



Anonymous: (sorry no name) wants me to start posting what I eat during maintenance now. I pretty much eat the same way I did before, just maybe a few extra berries in the morning now.


Today I ate:
breakfast; I made an omelete w/2 eggs, cheese, 1/2 avocado and I sauted spinach w/garlic and put everything inside. I ate 1 slice of the chocolate, maple coconut bread w/ some butter on top, and some berries, 2 blackberries, 5 raspberries and blueberries. 5/1 


No lunch - we went to the movies. I had a cheese and water in my purse and ate popcorn like I always do w/no butter. Hubby puts some in a box for me and I usually wind up eating all of it. I always skip some grain carbs whenever I go to the movies so I can eat the popcorn. I have done this from the beginning BTW. But you have to sacrifice something to do that.


dinner; shirataki noodles, mushrooms, a turkey patty cut up, brocolli, and some alfredo sauce and parmesan cheese all in a bowl. 3/1


I might have something for desert like some chocolate and white redi whip mixed in a bowl.


Another thing I do different now is, I might eat after 7pm every now and then. I NEVER did that the entire time I was trying to lose. 


Some of the rules I lived by:


eat a healthy breakfast
drink lots of water
take my vitamins, 2 pro-biotics and Reslina every morning (above left)
eat 3 meals a day
never eat carbs with dinner
be done eating by 7pm


If you are gonna try to lose weight - give yourself a chance and try real hard to do it right no matter what is going on or how you feel. Like me wanting to rip someones head off at the moment. That's not gonna make me eat bad. I am not trying to lose anymore but, I definitely don't want to look like my before picture EVER AGAIN!!

  1. Oh Rosalie, I can so relate to you these days. It has to be hormonal. It just has to be! I don't know what happened to my sweet, good natured self! I love your quote, and I want to slow down so badly. The truth is, unless I keep going at warp speed, I can't keep up with everything. I am trying for some balance, but not sure how to get it. I hope we both get back to better moods real soon. Hugs from me to you!!

  2. You really do make me laugh, even though I am sure you don't think it is funny at the time. My hubby would love for me to wear VS things too. I think I would look scary, he thinks I would look hot! I guess it is because they love us!
    If you really do feel overwhelmed some antidepressants may help. I take them every day. I guess I could stop, but I am afraid I would go crazy!
    What can you do to help??? Just keep journaling and supporting us:)

  4. Hey, you know that he meant that you look like a hottie now, right? they love us even when our boobs hang to our knees - it's us that has to love our droopy parts. Me included. :) Hang in there, Rosalie! I had to take antidepressants for a while, whatever you gotta do to keep sane.. Sometimes I think I might need them again, but then I think maybe I just need more sleep. Speaking of, I better go do that.. take care!

    Appreciate you posting what you eat. I made your stir fry recipe, it was good, but I do not like firm tofu, but loved the shiratake noodles. Those are keepers! Dawn in NM

  6. Hey Rosalie. So sorry the hormones are making you feel out of sorts. I take antidepressants and they really help. I also take fish oil and have noticed that if I stop taking it, things get ugly! I really recommend the fish oil and looking at the website women to women. Look at this website under PMS and they give some holistic remedies. I'm not sure where these women are from on the site, but they are doctors and NP's and I've found them to be helpful. Also, I take the fish oil from Sprouts called Minami Nutrition Platinum. Sorry if this advice is unsolicited, but I really have been going through a hard time with my hormones, too (and I'm only 40.) If I don't get them under control now, things aren't looking pretty for the future :)

  8. Rosalie dont be so hard on yourself. When my hormones start getting out of whack I am gonna make sure to take something because nobody will want to be around me....lol. As far as your husband goes take it as a compliment and go get some VS. I would wear some if I had lost the amount of weight you have saggy or not. You deserve to feel beautiful with all the weight you have lost. My aunt 80 and wears a thong lol I know to much info but she must feel great in her own skin.

  9. Ok Rosalie, Im gonna be very honest with you because you are always honest with me. I think you should take your Drs advice & try the antidepressants. I started taking them (wellbutrin) in December of last yr when I felt like the floor was falling out from under me and it took about 3 weeks for them to kick in but when they did, I felt like I had a better grip on my emotions and my life. I am still taking them and although I am feeling pretty good right now, am going to ask to stay on them another year until after my sugery. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with taking them. They make me feel more even keeled & I am a much better person to be around now. Wellbutrin is also known to have an appetite suppression effect however I didnt notice that. Hormones CAN make us wacky. Just try them for 3 months & I bet you will feel better.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
