I remember the simple things that I started noticing when I was losing weight.
One of the first things I noticed was when I laid in bed at night to get ready for bed, my tummy went below my ribs for the first time.
When I lifted my legs up in the air when in bed - I remember the first time that when I put my knees together I actually saw a space between my legs. Never thought that would ever happen.
I remember the car I drove at the time had a armrest. I always had to keep it up because it pushed up against me. One time I noticed when I put the armrest down - It didn't touch and I had TONS of space..
I remember the first time I fit into a size 14. I was at Avenue where I bought lots of clothes, and I accidentally locked myself out of the dressing room cause I was so excited that they fit, I went up to the front to get the girl to let me back in and I was just about crying...
These were the pants I bought that day.
I remember when I noticed that I was at the movies and I actually didn't touch on the sides of my hips to the chair.
Just thinking about these feelings I had still makes me cry. I am SO GRATEFUL for finding the perfect thing for me. I never go off my way of eating. Why would I? I managed to - SOMEHOW lose 90lbs and I will do EVERYTHING in my power to make sure I keep it off and NEVER gain any of that Nasty weight back.
I LOVE the way I eat now. Did I say how GRATEFUL I am??
I am so thankful that I can share everything that I learned with all of you and HOPEFULLY - well - JUST MAYBE - it might rub off on you too.
Whatever you do, just NEVER GIVE UP!! OK? NEVER... YOU control YOUR destiny.
YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!
Thanks for listening and have a great day

Some tips if you are having trouble
- First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
- Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
- Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
- Make sure you drink lots of water.
- Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
- Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
- Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
- Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
I hope this helps.

ReplyDeleteGreat to keep in mind all the little things, no matter how far you've gone on your journey.
Dawn :)
Dear Rosalie,
ReplyDeleteThese are excellent reflections. I lost 35 pounds on BFC four years ago and one of the most exciting milestones was being able to fit in the tiny wooden chairs in the children's section of my library! Prior to the weight loss, I could only squeeze in diagonally. Once I lost the weight, made a special trip to the library with my kids to "see if mommy fits". I was elated when I finally did!
Since then work got more stressful, more hours, stopped my morning exercise and weighings and let myself cheat a little here and there. It all added up and I gained 15 pounds. Have now caught myself from this spiral and begun BFC again. Have begun to start losing weight again and it is thrilling. I have learned my lesson never to take this weight loss or this lifestyle for granted. This way of eating is so good for me, why would I want to eat any other way?
Just discovered your blog last week and turn to it for inspiration and encouragement. Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us.
Sincerely,
Tehseen in San Diego
