Gaga tomorrow...

Hi all,

Yesterday after our breakfast Maria and I went to run a few errands then we went to the cheap theater to see MAMA. we both had popcorn and 2 squares of 86% chocolate but of course she had diet coke and I had water. It was a good scary movie but ended stupid I think.

We went home and then took my girls to Petsmart to get groomed. They were looking like homeless dogs for sure.

Much better now - look how cute they are.

Maria was hungry around 4ish so we ran a few more errands then went to one of my favorite places.
Boston Market, I had the bowl with turkey, creamed spinach and veggies.

For desert we both had a pumpkin muffin crumbled in some RediWhip and some

Creamy Turmeric Tea; (SO GOOD)
Ingredients:
1 cup almond milk
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
4 drops pf Sweetleaf stevia
Directions
Heat the almond milk in a microwave, stir in the spices then add stevia to taste. Enjoy!

This was my first time having the Turmeric tea and I must say, all the spices were SO GOOD together.

For breakfast this morning I made us some Pumpkin pancakes. Maria liked them and ate them with of all things cottage cheese on top and I had some Natures Hollow syrup.
Around 11am I drove Maria back home to Pasadena and I came back and just did about 4 loads of laundry.

For my lunch I made a cauliflower crust pizza and put spicy Hummus instead of sauce, sliced tomato and a little more cheese. This was delicious.
Then I made some more of the Chocolate-Cheesecake-Muffins.

I have no idea yet what Hubby and I will eat for dinner tonight. But I do have some thing to tell you...

Tomorrow which is Sunday Hubby and I got some free tickets to go see my step daughter perform with GAGA at the Staples Center. If any of you don't know - my step daughter, Nicole has been on a world tour with Lady Gaga . She is one of her dancers. She got us free tickets and she got a back stage pass to go meet her, but could only get one as of yet and of course its going to Hubby. Its his daughter after all. I hope to have some great pics for you on Monday. I HOPE!!

  1. That would be really cool to see! Your step daughter has to be pretty amazing to dance in that show! I think Gaga is a little strange, but there is no question she is talented. Most talented people are a bit strange aren't they?
    You are making a lot of treats lately? Do you freeze them? Just curious!

    1. Well Maria helped me eat what I had in the fridge the past 2 days. Only 1 scone and 1 pumpkin brownie muffin and 4 cauliflower-cheese muffins left. :-)

  5. How exciting to go to that show! Regarding diet cokes and Maria, has she tried Zevia? Pricey but delicious. You are so brave to go to the scary movies, I'm with your husband, too scary for me.

  6. Great blog, your food is always so great. Seeing GAGA sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe take some ear plugs, it may get really loud.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
