How is everyone doing? We really had a good weekend with my brother and 2 of his kids, well adult kids anyway. 19 and 21. They got here Friday late afternoon and I left work at 4:30, 1 hour early. When I got home I took them on a walk down some of the trails. Then Lisa (sister) and Maria (Step-mom) came over and all of us went to dinner at Gyu-Kaku in Rancho. The place with the grill in the table.
Here's the gang - minus Hubby who took the picture.
Saturday we all decided to go hiking and went to this place called Switzer Falls up Angeles Crest 2-Hwy WAY-WAY up there. It was about 2.5 miles hiking in and a lot of fun - HOWEVER - there were a lot of people with their dogs off leash. A group of girls had 2 big maybe Lab-ish dogs and came by me and I told them to put them on a leash cause my sister brought her little dogs along. (NOT my idea). Anyway My brother, niece, nephew and sis decided to go up this small path up the mountain and then to reach a waterfall. I stayed at the end with Maria and Hubby stayed with us.
I heard some screaming and said I hope they are OK. The 3 of us went to find some big rocks to sit on. Then only 1/2 hour later they all came back and said the 2 dogs just ran right off the cliff!! BOTH of them and it kinda ruined it for them so they came back. Besides that - we had a great time.
Sunday we all went to Santa Monica Pier, then the beach.
After we went across to the 3rd Street Prominande and ate dinner and watched some awesome music. What a fun day.
Monday I didn't go to work to hang with them. We didn't really do anything but I took all of them to Canter's Deli in LA. Its pretty OLD and Famous. Maria and I went there twice before. Then just back to Maria and Lisa's to hang out till they had to leave. Hubby and I went home around 8pm to get ready for work Tuesday. I miss them already. But my Handsome Nephew decided to stay with Lisa and Maria for a few weeks in Pasadena. My brother was not too happy about that but he is 21 after all. hopefully he will come over here to hang with us a bit too.
It was a lot of fun - a TON of walking and lots of eating out. and lots of $$$$. LOL I always make good choices though when eating out now.
I am still taking the furry kids for LONG walks every day after work.
Well that's whats been up - How about YOU??
Thanks for listening - Keep on BFC ' n :-)

Looks like you had a wonderful visit! So happy you love having family come for a visit. I'm thrilled when they don't come. :(
ReplyDeleteI saw on your Facebook page that you made a Green Tree tortilla. I was curious what that is and if you have the recipe to share? I checked your recipes but didn't see one for this. Thanks so much! I love trying your recipes. They all turn out so well. :)
Have a blessed weekend!
