I'm Not Dieting - I've Changed My Lifestyle

Well I got the email.............

Hello All,

My sister-in-law is down for the week with her 2 beautiful daughters. She lives up in Northern California and comes down once in a while. I went with them today to see the La Brea Tar Pits. It was fun and I took a few pictures for you.

Today I ate:
Breakfast; 2 eggs, 2 turkey bacon, 2 oasis bread w/cream cheese & natures hollow sugar free preserves, and 8 blackberries.

snack; some almonds.

lunch; I ate a salad at taco bell but not the crunchy bowl, instead I had a few tortilla chips.

dinner; buffalo wings and a spinach salad, and 2 squares of 85% dark chocolate.

OK - so Oliver from Jorge's staff emailed me back finally. Remember a few weeks ago he told me to send him some more pictures? And then I never heard back. Well Obviously no one was going on Oprah. LOL. Since tomorrow is her very last show.

So the email said he wants  me to be in his next book!! He said he wants more before and after pictures and gave me instructions on how to take a good picture. He also attached a release form to sign. It made a bit nervous because it said that they will have the right to use my face, voice, story photos, etc.... for a bunch of magazines and tv shows., blah, blah, blah....

It also said I will not get paid and I wave any right to inspect or approve any advertisement. OK so I am summing it up of course - but What Do You Think??
It sounds like I will be signing my life away.............

Well that's it. Thanks for listening. Lots of love and hugs for all. Please leave your comments.

This is PurpleRosy signing off......

My thought for the day:

Turn a Life Around

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest accomplishment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Keep on BFC ' n  :-)

  1. Well I say if one of your photos helps just one person with there weight lose goals, its worth it because "YOU" helped them accomplish that goal. Most testimonial people in books, etc never get paid, but it would be nice right.. ? :) That is pretty cool they want to put you in books, magazines, etc though. Congrats!! Sorry I haven't been around to post much lately. My life has been crazy busy and I can never find time nor the energy to type my blogs like I use to. :( One day I will get back to it. I haven't given up on my diet, I keep trying hard, but I haven't lost weight in a while.

  2. I say go for it! You have cones fabulous job and who knows where it may lead. If nothing else, it will be your 15 minutes of fame! And an ego boost to keep you motivated....not that you need it. Lol.

  3. Hey Rosalie, I'm back doing this lifestyle...and I think if it wasn't for people like you & Amber I probably wouldn't be. Even though it's scary signing your rights away, think of all of the people it could help & 15 minutes of fame is awesome, right. I second what Randi said for the ego boost to keep you on track (not that you need it). Sounds exciting!

  4. Talk to Amber about it since she's probably had to do the same thing and sign those documents. Ask her if any negative things have back lashed from her experience. I doubt it, but it's best to be on the safe side. Then again you can throw caution to the wind, and just enjoy the ride! If they're requesting a current picture, as you've stated, and it's going to be seen by millions, I'd have a professional photographer take a few pics like dancing on the beach, sunning in the pool on a bright colorful inner tube, or even one's walking your cute pups. Those would look more fun than the ones in BFC book where the person is just standing there. Just saying...

  5. Congratulations on being contacted by Oliver. It's wonderful to share your success with others. I don't understand why you have to sign your life away though. Plus, not to sound greedy, but you think they might give you something for your efforts, even if it's some free merchandise. After all the real life stories are what sells the books. Seeing that it works on real people is key. Your story will help the book be successful. And you need a job, so maybe you can work for Jorge! Can't hurt to ask. Good luck.

  6. Do it! You are such an inspiration..you just gotta do it...I'm just not down for the signing away your life for free part. I mean at least treat you to a professional photo shoot with new clothes. I will have to have a talk to Jorge about this ( just don't hold your breath..I'm not sure how he'll respond to a crazy woman sending him an email). May be there will be just big karma points given to you..I mean you're going to be an international sensation

  7. So glad you decided to do this! Just to address one of the commenters - they arent going to give you anything. It is a standard release form and if they do use you in the book you will also have to sign more legal documents from the publisher. At least I did. They can use my picture, videos and story (I had to write out a story for the book) anywhere they please. So you have to be good with that. Ive had no negativity from the whole thing, but definitely some karma points for sure!

The photos you send are just test shots, they will have a professional take the ones for the book. He does a wk at his office where he brings in everyone to photographed with his inhouse guy. Have fun!!

  8. I'd say go for it, you've done so well and your story will help others. I would imagine if you go on a tv show they would pay for it so you may get a free trip. The fact that you're 52,(I'm 54) would be encouraging to so many women because women our age think it's not possible to loose weight because of harmones.

Amber, i saw you on Rachel Ray, that's the first i'd ever seen anything about bfc.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
