Busy...

Good Morning BFC Listeners,

I have been kind of busy the past few days. I've been driving a lot in traffic which I am not used to since I don't work. Hubby's sister and the girls are staying at his mom's house in Pasadena and I've been going over there each day to visit.

The past 2 days we've spent 3 hours each day at out tax guy's office. We have 2 LLC's and had our taxes postponed until now to get it all done. Even though he filed extensions, I still get nervous waiting to get them done.

So yesterday I went and picked them up and we went to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory in Pasadena. It was very good. I had 1 small piece of the brown bread and a cobb salad. I only ate about 1/3 of it.

Then we had to run back to the tax guy and I got there at 2 and didn't leave until 5. I was hungry on the way home and ate some almonds I had in a baggie in my purse.

It is a very good idea ladies, to always carry a baggie of walnuts or almonds in your purse for those times when you are out and need a good snack.

Today (Friday) is the day that I would get my nails done but I knew I would not have time the rest of the weekend. So I stopped a place on the way home last night and asked how much they charge for the gel nails, ped, and the waxing that I had done last time.

Their price were actually cheaper than the other place and they talked me into doing it right then. It was 6pm and I was hungry - but I figured what the heck. So she did the underarm waxing first and said that the hair on my legs wasn't long enough yet after 2 wks. Hmmm, so that means it works good right?


So by the time I got home it was just after 8pm. I was still hungry so I threw some meatballs, and 6 brussel sprouts and some broccoli from the freezer in a bowl and microwaved it. That was my dinner. Kind of lat which I never do - but.........

So this morning I woke up and my weight is 154.5. I hardly went #2 yesterday because of running around. I was hoping for 153 but whatever. I might not ever get down any more unless my lazy butt gets out there and exercises. I mean more than just my daily walks.

For breakfast I had my usual of 2 eggs, smart and delicious wheat tortilla w/cheese, 2 turkey bacon, and blackberries. 

I never go a day without my vitamins and I always take 2 Reslina.

I am going to pick the girls and Kristee this morning in Pasadena. The girls want to go see Kung Foo Panda. Actually I want to see it too. This way I don't have to sit in a cartoon movie all by myself. LOL. Believe it or not I do that all the time, The kids must wonder who is that older lady sitting all by herself?

I am going to do like I usually do - I will skip lunch so I can have popcorn. We are going at the 12:05 showing this afternoon. I usually take some turkey lunch meat and wrap it around a string cheese and wrap it in plastic and put it in my purse so I can have some protein and eat it in the movies.

So that's what's going on....

  2. Hi! I have a couple of questions for you and anyone else... first- when you get popcorn at the movies (YUM!), what size do you get and how many carbs do you count it as? Second- I'm new to BFC and a little confused... Say you're thinking of 3 things for lunch- one is 7 grams of carbs, one is 12 and one is 18... do you add it all up for a total of 37 (2 carb servings) or would you look at each one individually and just have two since each one by itself is considered one carb serving? Does that make sense? Sorry!! :) Thank you so much! Love the blog :)

    I count the popcorn as 2 carbs and make sure that I have that much to allow.
    That's why I just eat the lunchmeat w/the cheese when I go, so I eat no carbs with lunch and use the popcorn instead.
    I usually go with my hubby and he gets a large and puts some in a box for me cause he likes butter and I don't.

    Make sure that you don't go over the 15/6. So add all your stuff together for each meal. Add everything - sauces and everything you put in your mouth.

    Divide it up to 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.

    Look at the labels a lot. It takes work, but its worth it in the end.

  4. Hi... so just to make sure I understand, you get like a medium or large popcorn and DO add everything together like I mentioned (7+12+18= only 2 carb servings even though it's three different items?) I'm sorry- I'm new and want to get it right :) Thanks again!

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.
