How is everyone doing? Well - who's left out there trying to get healthy?
Who has NOT given up and wants to keep going no matter what?
HOLLA if you are still here
The reason why I got to where I am today and am able to stay this way is because I NEVER gave up. I just kept going even on those weeks where I did not lose any weight and even gained some at times. I just kept eating healthy and kept trying to find new ideas and recipes that fit into the way I eat.
I have said MANY Many time that its all in your head, and it really is.
I know that lack of sleep and stress (which I have both) makes it hard to lose weight and will even make us gain some. But somehow - someway I manage to stay the same weight all this time.
I just keep eating healthy all the time - every day. I try to encourage whoever I can to eat healthy with me, but its never easy. I try not to be pushy, just helpful.
I walk every day after work. The other day there was a mountain lion sighting about 1/2 mile from here they said on the news. Don't worry - I am careful, but I wont' let that stop me. I Really Love it here.
Well I don't even know how many people are still interested in the Belly Fat Cure anymore, but that is what got me here. That is how I started to learn how to be healthy.
All you really need to do is eat REAL food and make healthy options. Limit your sugar intake to never more than 15 grams per day and limit your Healthy carbs.
If you are like me, than always keep some healthy sweet snacks made and ready in the fridge. ME - I need one every day... Love my healthy sweets now.
I do still eat wheat - just not that much any more. Maybe a couple times a week. I just really like making my own things out of the healthy flours WAY better - that's all.
OK well - I have to go. HOLLA if you are still here and maybe what you would like my next post to be about. I love to help you reach your goals and dreams.
This is PurpleRosy signing off... Big HUGS to you all...
Keep on BFC ' n :-)

Present!! I am so thankful for the BFC as that got me started knowing about sugar and carbs. I never really lost that much, but then I graduated to Fast track, and kept learning and changing. I still watch my sugar, but Dr. Davis and Dr. Perlmutter (Wheat Belly and Grain Brain) got me thinking about wheat and grains. January 1 I decided to stop those items in my diet. It's amazing how many similarities to Jorge, Maria Emmerich and JJ Virgin that these Drs. have. There are basic differences, but all agree, very low sugar, not a lot of fruit, low carbs, no processed foods. I just find that any wheat or grains, even healthy kinds set me off. I've lost about 7 lbs since January, but still dealing with the whole thyroid thing and now on armour thyroid which is a natural thyroid pill. So I know for me it will be slow, but I believe personally that there is something to this genetically modified wheat and corn that we are all eating and now I don't eat those things anymore and either does my husband. He feels so much better off he wheat. He needed Zegerid daily for acid indigestion and heart burn, had joint pain, sinus infections and now all of those things are gone. Even as a physician he is now a believer. So that's where I am at in my journey, but I owe it all to Jorge and you fo getting me started and keeping me going. Most of all the recipes you post fit right into the Wheat Belly way of life, and so do most f Jorge's'. I found some great bread recipes on Satisfying Eats, and Gourmet Girl Cooks blogs, as well as Maria Emmerich's blog so I have lots of delicious substitutes. Please don' stop blogging even if the rest of us ae so bad at it now. Life gets so busy for me at times, and I put that at a low priority. I shouldn't because love to read blog posts so much. Now I am very active in a few of the Wheat Belly facebook groups so that takes up a lot of time. But I'll surprise you one of these days with a new post!! XO!!
ReplyDeleteStill taking one day at a time... watching sugar and carbs. I really enjoy your posts and appreciate your honesty. Sometimes I can get down and our posts are so encouraging - Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI did the BFC about 4 years ago. I felt great and, after about 5-6 weeks, the weight started to fall off. I tried to do only 4 servings of carbs/day, but sometimes would go to 5. Then, I let everything get in the way of my health and gained the weight back. I'm about 210 now. I don't want a diet, I want a lifestyle change. I have been looking at various things like 2 shakes a day, etc, but I know this is not sustainable. I see that Jorge Cruise now promotes a 100 calorie a day program, which is just 25 total carbs a day. This doesn't seem very realistic for the long-term. Are you still doing the 5 sugar/5 carb (Servings) even now? I actually think that way of eating could be sustainable for life.
ReplyDeleteRosie,
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog. I have your blog in my favorites bar. You are an inspiration. I feel you are real, honest, and sincerely genuine. Please continue to post & know that you are making a difference. Sending love and blessing, Lynn
I just got here! I have read all your posts since the very beginning. I love your honesty. So many times I will start a diet, lose 3 lbs., gain back 2 lbs. and feel like a failure. But after reading your blog, I can see that weight loss is not consistent. Some weeks you lose. Other weeks you gain. But it's the consistency and dedication that really matter.
ReplyDeleteSo yes, I'm here. This is my first week on BFC. I subscribed to Jorge's site and newsletter. I was a bit confused about the 100 calories as opposed to the sugar/carb counts in his book. I am just sticking to plain old BFC and hoping to have good results like you.
I also have you on my favorite bar & look for posts everyday, then get excited when I discover a new post :) You are a real encouragement. lp
ReplyDeleteHi Rosalie!
ReplyDeleteStill here and still maintaining my weight loss. I don't count and track everything anymore, but still eat low sugar and healthy carbs. Thanks for blogging!
Shereen
Hi Rosalie! Although it's been a long time since I commented I read every one of your posts! You are always so inspiring and make me smile. Thank you for sharing the BFC and your life with us. Your Chocolate Almond Protein Bites are still one of my favorite recipes ever! (Even my NON BFC Hubby loves them!)
ReplyDeleteI'm here, still believe, and love your posts :)
ReplyDeleteholla, holla! Still plugging away...
ReplyDeleteHi Rosalie, I lost 40# on the BFC four years ago, and sadly I have gained every oz back. I intend to do it again, this time I want to keep it off! Over the years I have turned to your blog for inspiration and motivation, and I am back! Thank you Rosalie for sharing yourself with me and other readers who feel like there is someone out there who knows the struggle and how to overcome it! Kim in TX
