Get out and get some sun...

Good Morning BFC Friends,

Today is going to be an awesome day!!

You know sometimes when I am not feeling well, or in a bad mood, or just feeling blue - I always feel so much better when I go outside for a walk with my 2 best friends, Mandy and Peaches. They are always happy and love me all the time.

Those times when I just don't want to talk to anyone or go for my daily walk - they come and get me around 3:30-5pm. Oh - did I tell you they know how to tell time? They just come over and sit in front of me making those cute little faces until I say OK - OK! Lets go get my shoes.....

I have to tell you that no matter what the mood - when I go outside and walk, and get some Vitamin D, it always lifts my mood, and we all get some exercise too. I use the program on my phone called "Cardio Trainer". It measures the miles and how long it takes and how many calories I burned and then posts it to Facebook and Twitter for me. It also plays music while I walk thru my phone.

So everybody get outside and get some sun...... Just 20 minutes of a walk will do it. It will make you feel better.

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast; 2 scrambled eggs w/sauted yellow onion, mushrooms, baby spinach, and a hand full of Jimmy Dean turkey sausage bites, 8 blackberries with a smart and delicious wheat tortilla w/cheese. Of course my coffee w/truvia, clear benefiber, powdered cream, cinnamon, and all my viatmins and 2 Reslina every morning.

lunch; a chicken patty w/cheese on a orowheat sandwich thin- wheat, and a spinach salad.

snack; some veggie straws w/a little sour cream

dinner; buffalo wings and 6 brussel sprouts and some broccoli . 2 squares of 85%dark chocolate after.

Hubby has been working a lot. His regular shifts at the FD and some over time. He says we need the money, but that leaves me all alone with nothing to do. Remember I don't work.

Right now I am watching this movie called "For Colored Girls". It has every great black actress that there is in it. I am not sure of my opinion on this movie yet. It is a Drama, I am in tears but can't seem to turn it off. This kind of thing happens to a lot of women in poor areas, not just black women. Has anyone seen this?

Well that's it for now. I thank everyone for listening. Lots of love and hugs to all. Please leave your comments.

This is PurpleRosy signing off.....

My thought for the day:

Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it’s not going to go away.
Keep on BFc ' n  :-)

  1. Hi Rosy,
I ordered the Oasis bread last week. I was told they ship on Mondays. I just got the bread today and the label said it was shipped ground. There was no date on the bread or the package. Also no packing slip.I called the company. They said to throw it out that they were resending my shipment on Monday.Does it spoil that quick? When it came it was in time for lunch,,,I made a chicken salad sandwich, it tasted a little dry. I thought that was due to the grains. I put all 6 loves in the freezer planning to take out what I needed for each meal after I made my sandwich and before she called. How long do you keep a loaf? Do you keep it in the freezer? I know it was traveling since Monday without being in the freezer, Would you use it or toss it? I hate the thought of throwing it away,
I'm sorry your posts were lost the other day, did you get mine before they were lost?
I make sure I read your blog when I first turn on the computer,,, Sometimes I am too early LOL as we are 3 hours ahead. I always look to see what you are eating for the day. I would like to join you all.

  2. HI linda,
Did u order the Low carb sprouted flaxseed bread??
I buy 1 loaf at a time and put it in my fridge. It usually lasts me under a week. But if I had to order it like that - I would definitely put it in the freezer.
I like it cause I can eat 2 pieces and its only 1 carb serving. and its like 1 slice of other brands.
Where did you order it from?

  3. Yes I did order the low carb,
I ordered directly from the company that makes the bread in CA. it is not sold anywhere on the east coast. The smallest amount they ship is 6 loaves. Do you think I should toss what was sent or do you think it is OK as long as I keep it all in the freezer? It takes 3 days sent by air and 5 days by ground.I really liked it, Thanks for the info.

  4. I think it should be fine too, if the bread doesn't have white or green mold growing on it, then keep it, and like you did freeze it. Organic bread doesn't last but probably a week or two in the fridge, but after I few days I move it to the freezer. It may only be a bit dry, and not as fresh but that's okay. Just thought I'd give my two cents too on this bread issue. Do you have a Whole Foods store, or a health food store?

  6. You are so lucky to live in a warm state. We just had a couple of days of sunny weather and then it is suppose to rain again. So I agree take advantage of it while you can and the little ones get in shape and enjoy it too. I sure wish my dogs were on that time schedule. They want to go early in the morning again in the afternoon and evening....they never get tired. I will have to try that cardio app.

Some tips if you are having trouble

  • First make sure that you are staying under the 15/6. 15 sugars and 6 servings of carbs for the whole day. Thats no more than 5 sugars and 2 servings of carbs per meal.
  • Track all of your sugar/carbs. Add everything from your meal together and count them that way.
  • Try to stop eating whole grain carbs after 3pm.
  • Make sure you drink lots of water.
  • Count everything that you put into your mouth. Even sauces - everything , check labels.
  • Make sure that you don't eat any artificial sugars. Check labels, if it says sugar free - look in the ingredients, look for....sucralose, aspartame, saccharine in the ingredients. Those are BAD!
  • Going #2 is a big problem when a lot of people start the BFC. I have solved that problem with Clear Benefiber in my morning coffee and a scoop of Super Seed w/water in the afternoon. (you can buy the super seed on Amazon.com it is the cheapest).
  • Choose your carbs wisely. Try to pick the carbs that will give you the lowest count of carbs, sugar and calories and the most fiber.

I hope this helps.
