I found this out when we went to a Chinese restaurant and I couldn't find anything on the menu to eat. I told the waitress about my dilemma, and she told me about being able to order my food steamed so that I could season it myself at the table. So now, I bring my gluten free soy sauce with me, order all my food steamed, and then season it when it gets to the table. I guess if you're after a sweet flavor you could always try sprinkling a little Truvia on your food as well. It couldn't hurt to try. Or, if you're willing, you could even make sugar free sweet and sour sauce at home and bring it with you to pour over your food. Actually, that's a good idea. I think I'll do that the next time we go out for Asian food.

I know some people think it's weird to do that, or don't have the courage to do it, but it doesn't bother me at all. Restaurants have gotten so used to people on special diets bringing in their own stuff to supplement their meal with that they don't even think twice about it. They're just happy that you have found a way to still eat at their restaurant.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
